Winter Storm in Ohio (I mean Missouri)? (Maritz)

Just wondering if a winter storm is hitting Ohio (I mean Missouri) today. I have been trying to get in touch with someone at Maritz all morning regarding problems with a shop report. I keep getting a recording that all associates are busy but none of the extensions are working, not even the operator. I know they closed their offices last Thursday due to a winter storm but they had a notice on their web site.

UPDATE: After hitting the refresh button on their home page, I now see a message regarding a winter storm in the Midwest and limited availability.

I didn't want my report to be late so I did the best I could with N/A answers and submitted my report and the invoice. I hit refresh again and the shop is still showing on my current shops page. Would a winter storm affect the ability to actually submit my report?

they managed to send me a message in the middle of the night about a problem with a picture I uploaded four days ago. Of course, I'm 500 miles from home at the moment and MIGHT make it home by the 24 hour deadline to fix it IF the plane is on time, the shuttle bus is just pulling up when I come out of the terminal, and I don't need to get gas before the 90 minute drive home.....

What does Ohio have to do with it?smiling smiley As far as I know, all of Maritz operations are still here in St. Louis. It fits with them being closed last Thursday because we had a horrendous storm that day. We had some sleet overnight, but mostly rain and the roads are clear for now. That will be changing shortly after noon.

Don't get your panties in a wad. I made a correction to my original post. You know I am just messin' with ya!

We are having bad weather here in South Florida also. It is overcast with a high of 86 today. And it is windy so not a good hair day. ;-)

I would even forgo the grocery store figuring my family can live without bread, eggs and milk. The problem is I'm out of wine and we cannot have that.

I'm concerned about y'all being out of wine during a storm. What kind of management is that? Explain yourselves, please.

I'm in Los Angeles at the moment. As expected, the plane will be 45 minutes late. If it leaves here at 8, I will get to Phoenix at 10:15 which means I cannot possibly get home by 11:10, given that I have to walk that LOOONNNNGGGG walk from the gate to the curb, wait for the shuttle, go get the car, and drive the 90 minute drive home.

I'll be lucky to walk in my door by midnight, let alone get the thing scanned and uploaded by then.

(Dang, I could have gone to any blue bank over here today, gotten the stupid folder, written the number on it, scanned it with the scanner that I DO have with me, and uploaded it. But it wouldn't be the EXACT folder I received in the mail, or from the banker, I'm not even sure which one was missing. Oh well.)

Itsasecret...don't give up. They will take it after. Just do it. I truly doubt it will be a problem. Just do it when you get in.
Isasecret =you must be flying to terminal 4 - either US Air or Southwest. You are probably in the air right now. I will think of you later when you land.. That is a long jaunt through the terminal,
I too am having Maritz submission problems tonight. It won't let me submit with a "NO" answer for a blue bank combo shop. so I emailed them and gave up. I am sick and sometimes stress is too expensive healthwise. Welcome back!
Edited out. I hit reply by mistake! Just too damn warm and sunny here to pay attention.

Plane was over an hour late. I just submitted the new pic. They had sent me a second reminder about 24 hours after the first asking me to do it "as soon as possible," no death threats, LOL.

The problem was the shop number wasn't on the pic. I had SEEN that when I scanned the documents, and wrote the number on it and scanned it again. And then I stupidly uploaded the original, un-numbered pic instead of the new one I had made.

So.... my bad, but should be fixed now.

Now that is just mean-spirited and downright unfriendly. tongue sticking out smiley
I wonder if anyone from Maritz gets on here to read posts...

If they do, they ought to pass the following to their IT department and CIO, if they have one.

Set up a Virtual Private Network at Maritz so that your auditors and editors can log-in from to your network and act as remote workstations doing the ordinary tasks from home that they would normally do at the office, if they can't get to the office because of snow and ice, a common occurrence in the KC area.

Give each employee a VPN UID generator that gives them a random code for logging in. These generators can be in the form of a small device that fits on a keychain or imbedded on a card the size of credit card.

Of course, that would also mean that Maritz would have to join the 21st century by giving their employees laptops that they could take home with them when the forecast calls for wintery weather.

Maritz employees do not even get an e-mail address at work so good luck getting them to accept today's technology.

Snow days really aren't all that common in St. Louis. Because of the tendency to get ice as much as snow, there might be a few days over the course of a winter. Certainly not enough to get a company to make major changes.
