Post office

Has anyone ever shipped to a PO Box address for any of the scenarios? There was one for scenario D and in the description it said NO RESTRICTIONS. I signed up for it, and now in the guidelines it says no PO Box shipments.

Anyone every shipped to a PO box?

Thanks

No - I don't think you are suppose to - not sure why. Would be interesting to hear why.

The no restrictions refers to who can do the audit - i.e. certain age, certain shopper rating, certain number of times you can complete the shop at the same location. Sorry, I've only sent to physical locations although I was tempted to last time since the box was left outside where it easily could have been stolen. :-/
It seems to me that the boxes would not likely fit into a typical P.O. Box. I may be wrong.

I’m also glad to find a thread about the Scenario D. I have done the scenarios A and B. but, what is the scenario D about?

I'm only starting to do the USPS shops, so I don't have a lot of information about why this would be yet. But I do have a PO Box for my business. Not fitting in a PO Box isn't a reason not to send a package to one. There are a couple options for packages: Some post offices, like mine, have lockers - it's one of the reasons that I "moved" to that location. They put your package(s) in a locker and then put the key to the locker in your PO Box. If they don't have lockers, don't have one available, or the package is too big to fit, they just put a package slip in your box alerting you to come in and pick up your package as per normal.

UPS and FedEx tend not to delivery to PO Boxes... but I've recently seem occasions where they deliver it to the Post Office for the final part of the delivery.
I’m glad they have those options for you as a paying customer. smiling smiley
I only meant that they probably want the Mystery Shop packages to take up minimal space and leave those kinds of options for the paying customers. After all USPS is not making money off the packages we send.

Can anybody tell me how the scenario D is different from the rest. They are lousy with them around here. I'd just like to know if I'd have trouble completing one before I take any of them.

TIA

Have been doing PO shops for some years. Never saw anything re POboxes. How would you do the customer service part of it? In other words, you would not go to the counter to send something to a PO box.

I suppose you could be right about... but then the boxes for scenario C are HUGE. I just signed up for a couple of those - a good excuse to clean the gluten out of my pantry for a good cause. :-)

Speaking of which, for those of you doing the "dimensional" shops, what's the lightest/best packing material for filling up the rest of the box? It took all the air-filled packs that I had saved from packages that I have recent received to fill up my first box, and only had enough weight allowance for two cans.

Thanks in advance!

D is just another A shop - it seems like a reshop because when I have done them it's been later in the month and a post office I may have all ready done the shop for earlier in the month. I had one a month or so ago and I recalled the first time I did it they didn't offer me express or insurance etc so I wonder if they reshop those later in the month.

D is the same as A. You can't ship to a PO Box. I sometimes use other boxes to pack around the item being shipped.

Egg cartons can also be used as lightweight packing material.

Yes, egg cartons are good for package filler. I'm thinking that shredded paper is also useful.

Some folks in another thread suggested just taping the items (wrapped inside a plastic bag first) to the bottom of the box. I had not even thought of that one! I may give it a try. I'm sure that I'll use a ton of tape - I worry about things banging around as it is.
I've done several USPS shops, but I have never shipped to a PO Box.

I signed up for one of the scenario A's as well. I was planning to ship something that I need to ship right away, but the confirmation says that they have enough of these for April, and I have to wait until May to do the shop. Do they do this often? Is it worthwhile asking if I can do it sooner? I'm afraid they would just find it annoying. Does does it effect the scenario C shops? It doesn't look like it does, but I'm just starting with them.

Thanks!
They sent out a follow up email. Jobs that are already scheduled are to be done. Anything not assigned wont be until after the 1st of the month

Thanks. I'll read through the emails again. I might have missed it as, I got a ton from them and was quickly reading from phone.
I believe the instruction say you CANNOT ship to a PO box for the shops.
