Blue bank shop tip -- not quite

Update: It has been reported that the rep gave me a bum steer about this and that the system is requiring an answer to the sub questions even if the answer is "yes." So it's possible it simply doesn't MATTER what you answer to the subs if it is a YES, but apparently it is requiring it. The question came up in the context of my thinking I had answered a sub-question incorrectly. He may have thought it didn't matter if there was an answer, when what was correct was that it didn't matter what the answer was, unless the main question was a NO.

My apologies for passing on his incorrect information.

Original comment:

I had occasion to talk to a Maritz rep the other day about some of the bank questions they have added to the reports.

They have added some "are you sure?" clarification questions to both of the shops. If you answer Yes, the banker did do this or did give you that, you don't need to answer the clarification questions. Those are confirmation questions to be sure you didn't mark NO by mistake. So if you marked No, then one or more of the sub questions should have a No.

If a question is #3 and there is a 3a, 3b, 3c etc under it, if you answered Yes to 3, the system will ignore 3a, 3b, and 3c. You can see this when you review the shop -- it will say "skipped question" on those even if you marked them all.

Most companies have smarter systems, and if you answer No, THEN it will bring up the "are you sure" questions. This one presents them to you, then ignores them.

The same is true on the ODP shops, if they went over the entire brochure, they get a Yes. If they didn't go over the whole thing, then you mark No and tell them what they did. If you say Yes, you don't need to do the sub-questions; they will be "skipped" when the report is submitted.

So . . . save yourself those extra clicks, unless you answered No to the primary question.

Thanks. By the time I am done scanning and re sizing, I can save time on at least something.

And that pretty much sums up why I rarely shop Maritz.

Certifiable
I apply for many Maritz shops in my area. I have not done one for a very long time. If I can do several in the same trip, I will let them know. There is no response. I rarely even check the site!
After the route I did last week, I figure I could easily do 15 of these in a day if they were within an hour of each other. Just request them, why do you need to talk to them about it? I only talked to them because I got a "name your bonus" email. If I don't need bonus money, there's no need for me to talk to them.

MMMM - I never have to resize my scans. I just set the scanner to the resolution that is acceptable.

I take photos of them and resize them in Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It's very fast.
After upgrading to Office 365, I lost Picture Manager and am totally bummedsad smiley

Thanks for the advice on re sizing, I'll give it a try.

By the way the "tip" did not work, When I hit submit, the system made me go back and select "yes" on all the sub questions.
Dang. The guy assured me those questions were ignored unless you marked the main question "No". I wonder if my inquiry made them "fix" the thing so it's requiring it now.

I will edit my top post.

Mr C, does it size and rename in a batch?

If you are taking pictures with a camera you should be able to set the resolution to the size that they want. Then you do not have to re-size. That is what I do.
That's what I do too but apparently not all cameras have that feature.

Often I don't like changing my camera because then I forget to change it back. I've also found occasions where being able to pick up those extra details has helped out. As long as the sizing just took a couple of clicks, it just worked out better for me. Since losing Picture Manager, I have been setting the camera at the low resolution. Renaming photos isn't always necessary either. For me it was always easier and faster during the actual report and minimized my errors.
