Yeah, and I am laughing at YOUR version of internet etiquette, since the abbreviation, ROTFLMAO, if spelled out in polite company, would HARDLY be considered respectful OR respectful..

Nice going Dee shops... I shall warn others to not deal with you here...

Had i known I could of put you on ignore, or not come here to start with!

I don;t know even know WHY someone would want to sign up for this forum..

You sign up for 150 shops and yet, still MONTHS later.. you STILL do not have a job.. but you have given all your personal info.. birthdate, address, s.s. # to countless companies whom you have never even met via the web.

I;m starting to wonder if this whole site aint; some kind of scam... why does it take SO darn LONG to find a job with this forum????

you strike me as some kind of Tita.. dee shops. ... who just CAN NOT stop trying to beat up someone..You got your head Up your okole Dee shops...if you think that YOU are being respectful!!!

I have run into LOTS of stupid people like you on the web before.. ones who CLAIM they are So respectful, but all they do is come to someone;s post or thread who has asked for help, and just come bash them over & over!
Just WHAT have you been smoking that makes you actually THINK you are respectful???? LOL?. that is totally ridiculous..

Makes me DELIGHTED I no longer live on Hawaii if people like YOU live there now Dee shops! Wow... thank you god!!

Dee shops, you just crave the attention and love the fact you can act like some superior cyber-bully here and get away with it.

Later for this nonsense! Hope you are happy dee shops..If you actually live in Hawaii, you are MILES away from the Mainland, but you are driving potential shoppers from finding jobs on the mainland, and also from a scheduler from possibly finding someone to do their shop with your rude attitude..

If THIS is your idea of manners, dee shops.. i wud hate to see what you idea of being non-mannerful would be like.. you are a hypocrit and a control freak.

Now get the he¡¡ off my thread!

Ok. Realize that the shops do not come to you just by signing up with companies. To some extent they will email you of available shops, but by and large you need to go to the websites and look at the job boards to self-select or request shops. I am on the internet as often as I am BECAUSE in the background I am checking job boards for work. It is a process that requires time every day and in fact with my most productive companies I check at least twice a day (that is about 30 companies I treat that way). It also requires learning when the companies you work with are most likely to post. Within the next few days most of my regular companies will post jobs. Most frequently they will not share with you when they will post, but they are creatures of habit so fairly predictable. The only jobs they will email out are the ones they can't fill because either they are in isolated locations or the fee is too small to be interesting.
Polly, Me thinks you need to spend more time looking for a job and less time trashing others.

If you live in the boonies don't expect to make a living from mystery shopping! this is a concentrated business and you need access to a lot of stores /businesses. If you want the occasional freebie, you might win out, but don't expect anything other than a bone tossed here and there. your travel distance is way too far and the payback is often times break-even. Some companies will entertain distance pay, but they are few and usually don't operate in BFE
While I find this whole thread very entertaining, this also a great example why I don't post very often anymore. I have found over time no matter what message board I am on it always seems to come down to conversations like this.
Enough has been said so I am not going to get into it but I would like to say, even though I don't post very often due to the fact I have more assignments then I can handle most of the time and I owe most of my work to the good people from this message board. When I re-entered the wonderful of mystery shopping I was lost, so much had changed from yrs ago when I first got started in this biz.
When I found this message board I read, read & read somemore then started asking questions, some of my questions I am sure were a pain in the rear to the vets but they never made me feel that way. I have received private e-mails that were very detailed & time consuming to write. Way beyond my expectations, so with that said I would like to express my huge appreciation and heart felt THANK-YOU'S.
Have a awesome day everyone, and has always thanks for the education.

Anyway, I just got an e-mail from Hanover telling me they just opened up their trailer checking division. Supposedly, they're looking for trailer checkers for the new Star Trek movie opening this weekend......but so far I don't see anything listed on their actual website in the jobs/projects section. Is anyone else seeing projects in your area? I wonder if they're going to continue listing jobs on their website or just rely on the schedulers to contact us via phone or e-mail? I hope they pick up soon because I can sure use the extra income right now.

I got an email asking me if I was interested in doing the shop. The email was confusingly worded, and I sent a response asking some questions about it, basically saying, "if this, yes, if that, no."

I never got a response. That was Friday.

I spoke too soon. I just got a clear answer and an offer to do the shop. I took it.

I just logged into the site and saw that I actually had assignments I can choose from to conduct first show checks (I assumed they were trailer checks) for the Harry Potter movie on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for Hanover. It looks like you HAVE to choose to do it EACH day, or none at all. If I didn't have to work during the day on Friday, I would've taken it. It's still up for grabs at this time in two theaters in NYC (theaters that USED to be done by CErtified). hmmmmmmm I'm so glad to see that Hanover is clearly taking over some of certified's theaters and that these theatre clients are finally realizing how SHADY and disrespectful Certified is towards their contractors. Keep up the good work Hanover!!!!

Rebel, I thought this was an odd comment. How do we know what the theatre clients realize? Maybe Hanover underbid them. Maybe the client doesn't like MFI. There are lots of other maybe's, but I would bet that the client could care less how the contractors are treated by any MSC. We are talking the entertainment industry, and megalith operations.

This will be my first job for Hanover, and so far so good, but I will wait and see after doing the job and getting paid per terms. :-) I don't know anyone personally who has worked for them, so nothing to go on but the chance of a free movie for 2 and hopefully getting paid. ;-)

Dee, don't take this the wrong way, but I find it very hard to understand why you always defend Certified when anyone on here bashes them, when hundreds of people have been treated so poorly by them and the BBB doesn't even recommend them as a trustworthy company to work for! Either way, it is a fact that Hanover has taken over theaters that were originally handled by Certified only as recent as this past month (a major theatre chain actually). I know this because I'm now finally getting very similiar assignments from Hanover at the SAME exact theaters that I once received from Certified a couple years ago. Therefore, it seems clear that this theater chain (can't mention who) researched certified and realized how poorly they stand with the Better Business Bureau and therefore, switched to a different company OR both companies are now shopping this one theatre chain (which would be kind of silly since the assignments are exactly the same). I guess only people who haven't been dropped yet from certified can tell us for sure what theater chains they still have. I have read good things about Hanover from other boards and forums, so I'm sure you'll be paid for your work with them Dee. So far, I've even found the Hanover reps much friendlier than the Certified reps. That's normally a good indication on the company as a whole. So, don't worry, Hanover will pay you! I'm thinking about starting another link entirely about Hanover, so others can share their experiences with them. HOpefully, they will all be positive.
I have only had positive experiences with Certified, and I know I am in the minority there. :-) People have been respectful and nice, and I have never been mistreated or not paid. I don't have any problems with them other than they pay low for many shops, so I only do certain types.

I am hoping the Hanover is as great as they are starting out for me, as you are, too.

But, short of talking to the person at the client who made the decision to change mystery companies, I am not going to presume what the client's reasons are. It might have nothing to do with their feelings about Certified vs monetary or other things, but I really find it hard to believe it has anything to do with how the MSC treats it's shoppers. :-)

True, we don't know for sure why the theatre client(s) may have dropped Certified and went with Hanover instead. However, due to their poor reputation, I can only assume that's the main reason why. Have you noticed any significant decrease in theatre assignments with Certified recently Dee? I'm just curious. Well, I guess since you never had a problem with Certified YET, you can consider yourself lucky since several (understatement) people on here have had major issues with them. Also, Hanover pays only via paypal, so they may also pay faster than Certified too. This is something for everyone to keep in mind too!
I had an issue in the past with Certified Reports. But...I learned my lesson, asked to be reinstated and very graciously was granted a 2nd chance. I was polite and very frank in the issue and they came across quite professional.

People may get along if they are honest and open. They have to point out with the MS company, that it is a win-win situation for both parties.

National Audits also does movie checks. When Hanover was bought by someone last year, most of the people that worked for Hanover went to work for National Audits.
They don't have a website that I know of. All my communication is via phone, fax, and snail mail. The schedulers came from Hanover when it was purchased by the new people

Here,Here....I definitely agree.
My husband's words that have to be etched in our children's' brains, "Do the right thing"; mine, "the high road is the right road". Sounds preachy, but we're really a lot of fun!
I just read on another message board that someone recently got in touch with National Audits and they told him that he needed to sign up with Shadow Shopper (which is actually known to be one of those "pay to shop" websites, aka spam). Therefore, I don't think National Audits is a legit company.
I wouldn't go so far as to say they weren't legitimate because they use Shadow Shopper. It may well be that since they have no website to register as a shopper they need to go that route to find shoppers. I can wonder at their choice of chanel for their shops, though I would like to assume that Shadow Shopper checks the legitimacy of companies they serve. They may be under the mistaken impression that serious shoppers pay to shop--which in my experience is the exact opposite of truth.
The person quoted here from the other forum also said the *receptionist* told him that. Since he did not provide more info than that he had called and that she had said that, it is difficult to try and read into why it was said and within what context. I would say that anyone interested in shopping with them should call them up, ask to talk to whomever handles trailers, and go from there. But that is me.

I'm not signed up with ShadowShopper and I do movie checks for them all the time. In fact, I just spent two weekends counting close to 45 shows each weekend (More than one screen). They've never once said anything about Shadowshopper to me. Sounds like someone didn't know what they were talking about. National Audits does not e-mail or even have a website that I'm aware of and I've been with them since they were formed a couple years ago. Many of them came from Hanover Security.

However, one can believe what they want. As for me, I have a $350 check sitting on my desk that I got a couple days ago from them for my checks a week ago so they're very legit and pay so much quicker than ANYONE I've ever known. I do a movie count for them, and I have the check a week later.
Wow, I'm glad to hear things have been working out well for you with this company. You're lucky to have been accepted with them because I must have left at least 3 very polite messages already for them to call me back (haven't spoken to a live contact yet) and no return phone calls. Jellybean, you also mentioned that you joined with them over two years ago. I am thinking that perhaps they have a different sign-up process now through Shadow Shopper. I also agree with Flash, I don't think serious shoppers would turn to shadow shopper in order to get assignments, especially since they ask for money up front just to join. How legit is shadow shopper in the first place? Do they actually assign trailer checking assignments also?
Shadow Shopper is neither an MSP nor a scheduler. They are only a connection conduit between companies and shoppers.
My mistake. I was just using that as a stand in for the word "movie."

Okay, movie folks-I note you might have the opportunity to do a movie in a couple of days. I got a notice of one biggie opportunity for a movie opening this week, but I cannot do it as I have other commitments....

I was just offered a sound check assignment for Transformers, but it was at a location too far from where I live. Furthermore, another company that just started doing some trailer checks in my area is Quality Works. I was e-mailed one assignment from them for a theater close to where I live, but of course someone else already snatched the assignment.
