Enter it. You should be fine. I've had one that was an ounce short and it was not questioned. I think they absolutely want to be sure it qualifies for Priority Mail.

I've actually had two that came up a few ounces short of the 18 ounces. Both went through fine and I was paid.
Thank you for the advice. I am going to enter it in. Right now it looks like that MSC is down for maintenance, so it will have to wait til later. Thanks again!!
Well shoot I had one that was short and they would not accept it! It's been awhile though but same MSC.

Editors seem to dictate those shops a lot.
I've done that before and the report was accepted just fine. Everyone's scales are different, even different PO's scales are different.
I did 2 USPS the same day, 2 different locations...EXACT same product in the EXACT same boxes. one was 15.95 and the other 29.95.

I always email the scheduler-- I have boxes I send and resend endlessly and at 9 out of 10 post offices it comes up at 20 ounces and one it comes up at 17. I've done at least a hundred of these so I guess they know I'm reliable.
I just had my first one that was short on Friday. I weighed my items at home and they came out to 1 lb. 2.9 oz. After I put them in the ready post envelope, the post office's weight was 1 lb. 1.1 oz. I e-mailed the scheduler and he told me it would be fine. I think they put on an extra 2 ozs., just to make sure your items weigh over a pound.
I had one last month that was an ounce under. The editor wrote me a note reminding me in the future to double-check, but it was accepted.
You would think in all of this the end results would be the USPS getting the scales accurate. But for those repeating the shops same location same incorrect results why on earth are we doing this if they do not want to fix the scales. Good waste of a lot of money both for us and unsuspecting patrons.
I've never had a weight difference of more than an ounce on my USPS shops. I guess the question to ask is, if you encounter this, are you reporting the incorrect weights?

Except the USPS is going to be thinking that we should get *our* scales fixed.
But actually, they won't be thinking anything of it at all, because USPS will probably never know what our packages weighed at home.

Good point, who really knows which scale is correct and which is not? My guess would be USPS has their scales calibrated with some regularity unlike scales at home.
