Shipping Shop

I have a shipping shop and it says cash preferred but doesn't say mandatory - can I use my debit card? I don't really have enough time to go by my bank for cash and I prefer not to pay fees to a closer bank.

I used a credit card and still got a 10 rating from the MSC. If it says "preferred" I take that to be optional. Evidently, they really don't give a ship if you don't adhere to the stated payment preference.
(Just because gentlemen prefer blondes doesn't mean we exclude brunettes!)

Just because I "liked" your post doesn't mean I don't think you're a "pig" (based on your last line).

Oh don't be too hard on him for quoting the name of a movie and keep in mind he couldn't spell brunettewinking smiley

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
I respectfully accept both criticisms above---Yes, I guess I am a pig, and Yes, I spelled brunette incorrectly. My hands are more suited for slinging garbage cans than for pecking forum comments on a tiny Apple keyboard. That's the excuse for the typo. As for being a pig, well, I kinda like pigs. The blonde/brunette thing was really just a joke though... oink, oink, oink!
Speaking of brunettes...(bad---be forewarned)tongue sticking out smiley

Q.Why is a "bag of trash" better than a brunette?

A. Because the bag of trash gets taken out "at least" once a week.smiling smiley

(I'm a red head so..lol)

How about some old ones?

What's the difference between a red head and a terrorist?
You can negotiate with a terrorist.

What do you call a red head walking between 2 blondes?
An interpreter.
Although they say "cash preferred" they actually mean always use cash unless it is the DIM weight shop, then they don't get upset with using a card.

They will still accept the shop but you will also get this comment from some of the editors: " Thank you for your report. In the future, please use cash only to pay for the transaction. LT" This is a comment from one of my shops when I used my debit card.
Wow. I've always used my debit card, in fact did 3 of them earlier this week. All got a 10, no comment about the debit card.

If that's what they mean, then that's what the shop guidelines should say, not "cash preferred."
I agree. They should say cash only not preferred. It leaves it up to the shopper on what they want to use. I have used my debit card without comment and then I got the above comment, so I switched to cash only. It also may depend on the editor.
I saw the "cash preferred" so I stopped at the grocery store to get some cash. I bought a bottled water, chose the $20 cash back option, then accidentally left the $20 in the dispenser. I got to the shop, realized my error and had to use my debit card. They didn't comment about using my debit card. Bleh.
I have done several with debit cards and have had no comment.....and 3 with debit cards that DID get a 'please use cash comment'. I think it depends on who is editing.
I have done 60 or more of these shops using plastic with no problem or even a comment for a MSP that preferred but did not require cash. However, I used to do these shops for another MSP that required cash and I always used cash for that MSP.

I think you will be fine using plastic for a MSP that prefers cash but does not require it.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
