Congrats! You are now eligible to be a Five Guys Certified Shopper!

Did anyone else notice this? I checked my email, and found a message saying "Congratulations! You are now eligible to be a Five Guys Certified Shopper". Funny thing is I didn't have to be certified before when doing these shops. Now I am, and they tell me congrats? I don't know. I can't help but see it as being a little funny. It's almost like saying now we're going to start inconveniencing you with a test, but congrats!

In my area, they are sitting on the boards. Maybe folks are tired of doing them, lol.
I either reached the magic number of Five Guys shops where you get deactivated, or I was identified as a shopper. Anyway, I haven't been able to see or assign the Five Guys Shops for a couple months.
I have only done one shop there ever about 6 months ago. I have received that same email once a month for about four months in a row now.
I got that message after doing 3 shops for them when I first started out...

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!
I wonder why they are doing this. I would think there must be an issue with the quality of the reports or the feedback on them if they are making shoppers become "certified" now, whereas they were not before. Kinda funny that they send the email out like they do. Rather than point out why certification became necessary, which would likely be perceived negatively, they make it sound like you just won the sweepstakes by saying congratulations.
I love Five Guys shops. I don't take them now unless they are bonused because I don't want to use up my lifetime limit. I think I got that email after the first or second shop for them.

What?? Wait!!! What is this "lifetime limit" you speak of???

Yeah, I know... it would kinda be nice if they were more transparent about these things...
I don't know of a lifetime limit, but it would not surprise me, as goes with the arches assignments. I visit about once a month, have cancelled a few times and still receive offers with bonuses from "Samantha". I was telling my husband that the fries are so addictive that I place them in my trunk so that I will stop eating them as I drive home. If there is a limit, I will miss these.
I did Lotsa Guys for about a year 3-4 times a month. They disappeared from my job listings as well about 3 months ago. Bad thing is I really miss the fries - good thing is my cholesterol is down.
I did 1-2 Five Guys shops a month for about six months, and then I didn't get any this past month...do you guys think I was somehow removed? This is one of my favorite places to shop! It is my only burger joint - I can't shop McDonalds because my sister worked there about a year ago.
The only lifetime limit is the one mentioned here on the forum. Very well could be speculation. I certainly hope it is.
I don't know, but I think they have enough limits as it is without adding a lifetime limit to the list.
Count me as one of those who hit lifetime limit for 5 Guys. I was doing 2-5 per month at different locations, some over 500 miles when I was out of town. I was removed from all of them.

Guess you should learn to enjoy them while they last. They sure beat the hedgehog shops in my opinion.

Can you give us an idea of how many that totaled? Just trying to figure out how many more I have to go. TIA

Sorry, I love working for <MSC> and not giving out their number. I have not been deactivated and enjoy whatever shops are available to me.

Moderator note: Tsk, tsk! You've been posting here long enough to realize not to mention the MSC... the client is in the thread title and several posts. smiling smiley

I hope there's no lifetime limits on 5 dudes. They are about the only fries I can stomach. Oh, and I love peanuts!

Some times you just have to turn around, give a little smile, toss the match, set the bridge ablaze, and walk away.

Silver Certified on the Carolina Coast. You want fries with that?
been wanting to do a five guys but they are only offering 7$ and just not worth the cost of travel ect.. how much do you guys normally get for your shops?

Normally? I don't do them unless they are bonused (I get those often) or it is a Pilot program shop and i get a free-for-all in regards to the offerings I can choose. I have to be really hungry to eat the same stuff over and over, but it happens.

(FWIW, I have some that have reached as high as $18...no turning those down!)

This is bizarre! I have done several Five Guys a month for a couple of years. They call me with shops that still need doing, and I do them (some are nicely bonused). I didn't know there was a limit on them, and I hope I don't exceed it since it is a wonderful shop.
I did McD's also for a long time. I even got a "Commendation" for doing 300 McD shops, with the MSC's thanks. Then ... the McD disappeared from my list of shops and I haven't done another for about three years now. I called to ask about them a couple of times but was told I had reached a limit that the client sets for a person to do them (response 1) and they would be sure I got back on the available list to do them (response 2). Still no McD's for me!

Pity. I really liked them for a number of reasons, and I truly like the food. I did another shop (with my wife) for lunch where I had one of the worst experiences ever. Of course, I get lots of offers for that place but I don't take 'em. We have done many restaurants and FF and Five Guys is high on my list of good places.
I doubt if anyone on this forum will tell you which MSC shops which clients. Doing so would violate all the ICAs that I am aware of.
One way of finding out is to sign up with lots of different MSCs and keep checking their job boards.

The same mystery shopping company continues to shop this client. If you are unable to see the client, it is not because the client has changed companies.
There is a lifetime limit for 5 Guys? I too only perform bonus shops. Recently I was not paid for purchasing water. There is no critique of the beverage...so what gives? After doing 10 shops for them I am taking them off my list for now.
I have no idea if I reached my "lifetime" limit or I was outed as a mystery shopper - either way they disappeared from my job listings. I just figured that I ate enough fries?? Don't know... but I do miss all of those guys.

They want to make sure that the order is exactly what the mystery shopper always orders? winking smiley
