My recorder broke during a shop!

I got into my car and looked down at my recorder and it was off! An entire shop lost! I was doing 5 identical shops and I was able to get 4 of them recorded but now I am trying desperately to remember what was different about this shop. Kicking myself right now because I really should have thought to write it down when I noticed the problem but I was pressed for time. What an annoying lesson, write down the shop afterwards and don't rely on a recorder and for sanity sake pay attention to every single detail even if you are pressed for time. I am throwing a tantrum over here - $20 on the line over this! URG!

Just lost trying to find a fire pit in a concrete jungle wishing it was a wooded glen...

if it wasn't for bad luck, I would have no luck at all

Was it a requirement that the shop be recorded? If not, your shop is not lost. The mind is a terrible thing to wastesmiling smiley
Breathe easy, put yourself back at the shop. It will come to you. I like to put the shops in, in the order I did them. My mind takes me on a fieldtrip to each location and I can remember everything, even when the shops were identical.
@ gypsymonkey ~ Do you live in a single party state? If not, recording someone without their consent is illegal. There are always exceptions like if the employer has made their employees aware that they could possibly be recorded or videotaped as part of their employment.

If you have a smartphone with voice texting, you should record your notes while driving to your next location. And before people get in an uproar about texting and driving, voice texting is different.

I live in a single party state, so recording my shops is not an option. When I return to the car, I go through the report and dictate my responses into a hand-held recorder. One time, I was in a hurry, I only jotted down some notes and when I got home, I could not recall the shop (brain fart!). So, I had a glass of wine, sat back and relaxed and it finally came to me.

RSGlenn, I have to assume you mis-typed in your last post. If you live in a single party state, then recording shops is indeed an option.

Yes, James Bond, I sure did! I do not live in a single party state.
