The $2 Trucking Company Phone Calls

Has anyone done these? I haven't even clicked on the email yet because $2 barely covers my time to read the guidelines. Oh, wait! They just offered a $1 bonus -- that's an increase of 33%!

$2 is a little low even for a phone shop, and I'm required to act (hold myself out as a storage facility manager which I'm not IRL). So that's why I have not yet taken one.

Actually the $1 bonus is a 50% increase!
Actually the $1 bonus is a 50% increase!

And despite the 50% increase, it's still not worth doing!

Ummm.....$2 to act a part over the phone? Not in this karma.....nope. Just my two cents on this topic.

The first and ONLY phone shop I ever did, was for $7.00 and the paperwork was an extreme headache, not to mention the boring guy on the phone, who rode me for 45 minutes.

That's 45 minutes of my life I can't get BACK! tongue sticking out smiley

LOL. I had seen these shops in my inbox every couple of days, so I emailed the scheduler and asked if there was a bonus. She replied and said I have been seeing them often because shoppers have to reschedule, and that they have so many shoppers they don't have to offer bonuses. Lo and behold, I saw the same offer you did, and thought the very same thing - an increase of 33% Woo hoo!!

The $5 phone shops are not really worth the time to prepare and do the shops and the reports. I'll pass on the $2 (or $3) ones. ;-)
I'm seeing $1.75 dealership offers. Such a deal. Lowest I have seen is $1.50 for a restaurant call.
Thank you for the excessively generous offer, however I must decline due to not having totally lost my mind yet.

$1.75 is insulting! tongue sticking out smiley
Expert Solutions has $1 phone shops. I think we have a winner!

$2 -- never! And if its recorded it comes with a liability with it that I wouldn't take for that $.

Thanks! I thought if maybe it was, "Hi. What's your name?" Report if the phone was answered by the third ring. Done. I agree with the rest of you.

That's funny! For $2, I would just call up the place, take note of their greeting, and then hang up without saying anything to the person, lol.

Seriously? A dollar seventy five in Phoenix won't even buy you a twenty ounce plastic bottle of Dr. Pepper! Or the USA today, even! Gotta pass on a shop that doesn't pay enough to buy a single USA Today.....

Oh Boy, $1.00! Now I have the beginnings of a down payment for my new home! smiling smiley
I'm new to this so, what are the best companies to do work for especially living in a rural area? How an who do I contact for phone calls?
There is no way to say who is going to have work in your area and my best company probably won't be your best company. Many companies have telephone shops, but I don't know of any who specialize in them. It always boils down to the same advice, register, register, register. Once you are accepted as a shopper you can see what they have to offer. While nothing beats having 100 or more companies, in the beginning you can use Jobslinger.com and MSJobBoard.com to help target MSCs who have had shops in your area recently. Not all mystery shopping companies post jobs on those boards and the listings are not always up to date.

Well, if you did 20,000 phone calls, that might make a down payment. In some areas of the country.....

No, no. I used to be an investment adviser in my former life. Invest the $1. With compounding at the current interest rate on a savings account you can retire (again?) by the year 2114.
I have done a few phone shops and now know how much work goes into them and will not work for less than $10/call. I did a funeral home $5 recorded shop that ended up being 25 minutes long ... and the company ended up rejecting my work because I had to make up an answer to a question that wasn't in the guidelines. Wth. I did a couple of $2 rent-to-own shops with 14 page guidelines. No thanks! Those were my first phone shops, and I won't be doing any more of those cheap ones.
No way would I ever consider it that low. I have done some paying less, but not much less, than $10, but I won't undercut myself and I would not think any serious shopper would.
Am a retired shopper that came back to this business and the worst shop is going into a truck stop and buying a cup of coffee and earning $5.00 to do 3 hours of paperwork plus pictures, and 35 miles from home, but I have done one on my way to do a route one day in a town 15 miles further than truck stop. No more mistake stop for coffee. When you do one everyone starts sending you and begging to do more and even a 100% bonus offered for a $10.00 shop and 24 oz coffee, or latte.
I get this offer at least twice a week! $5.00 plus $2 reimbursement. Check this, look at that, verify the other thing, hit the bathroom, temp the coffee, and take a picture or 7. With a 2 hour very early morning window. Such a deal. All this and I can deal with the overnight truckers and the lot lizards. whoopee. Although it is interesting to see what the current fashion trends are among the "professional" women. ( That aren't always women.)
