Five guys milkshakes

Forgive me if there is already a topic on this, but my five guys shop tonight allows for the purchase and reimbursement of a milkshake. Apparently they are trying the milkshake idea in select ny/nj locations. Anyone else had this type of shop before and how are the milkshakes? I always leave five guys craving a milkshake so I am hopeful!

I don't think it rally matters good or bad. If it is required you are pretty stuck having to try it!
Oops...I should clarify. The milkshake is optional but if you do order it, it is in addition to the fountain drink. And, you have some additional questions to answer about it. But it is basically reimbursed so I am willing to try it. I was more wondering how common these shops are.
I'm moving to ny/nj, stat!!! (I'm picturing delicious, thick and creamy...)

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
OMG! Hopefully my Cinco Hombres will get shakes sometime soon. Although I don't think my waistline agrees.
Shakes at Lotsa Fries - not in California yet but cannot wait. While they are shaking the fries you can order a shake.
I fear that if they keep adding to the menu then the quality of the food will go down. I like that they have additional items (the grand baby loves the hot dog,)

If they add too many more things the speed of service and quality may go down as the prices go up because they will need more people to work on the added steps.

This would greatly sadden me!!!

O.o o.O

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!
Well, the quality was a bit disappointing. Since Five Guys food is so good in the quality department, the milkshake doesn't meet that standard. At least not for $3.99. I'm not a huge soda drinker so I love having the milkshake option, but I felt it was on par with an In-N-Out milkshake and nothing overly phenomenal. Mind you, I still think In-n-Out milkshakes are good...just not overly special. I would be willing to try it again with a different flavor mix-in but it did put me a more over reimbursement since I usually get the reg. cheeseburger and reg. fry.
Their hot dog is disgusting to me, but milkshake is a natural addition to the menu.
Nope. In all likelihood you are registered with the company.

No shakes in my area at the Five Guys. Except for the belly shakes after over-indulging on tasty burgers & fries.
No shakes in my area yet, however, if the price of the milk shake is similar to the price of their burgers, I probably will pass. I have visited many 5 guys in other states and the prices were about half of what they are here in the heart of cattle country. Needless to say even before I started shopping, I visited the closest location when they opened within 100 miles, and was suprised that the 5 dollar meal was now 10 and change.
Just tried their BLT, loved it. No shakes in CA, but with Obamacare I can have bacon and shakes everyday.
Just remember, you can't MS in the hospital.....At least I don't think there is any....
Kamarkim, you'd be surprised. I've seen gift shop and cafeteria shops for a nearby hospital! But you know, if the food's what got you there in the FIRST place...
i think sonic shakes are good. being diabetic, i don't indulge much smiling smiley smiling smiley

i would all but KILL to ms hospitals! if I ever need an operation or such, i'm going back home (so cal)

they're backwards here sad smiley
I am just now writing up tonight's Five Guys shop. I did about 10 of these last month and there was no mention of a milkshake, but tonight's shop had the questions in the paperwork in case the location had milkshakes. No luck here. Just soda. But I sure love their soda machines! It is great to be able to choose just seltzer water.
@junk1958 - I got so excited when they switched to the new soda machines. Strawberry Fanta! Yum!
I had my first 5 Guys hot D\dog at the airport (not a shop, I was just hungry) and it was awful. tongue sticking out smiley

I would never order a hot dog from them again..yuck...
I haven't tried their shakes yet. Their burgers are ok, but I'm not a fan of their fries. I eat a few, just to evaluate them, but they put so many in that bag. No wonder our country is obese.
