Pay Pal Debit Card?

Does Pay Pal have a debit card option? I looked on their site but did not see anything, but I just wanted to double check here. I see they do have a credit card, is it possible to use that card like a debit card, applying your MS pay to your card to use while MS? My daughter just signed up to MS and I thought it would be a good way for her to track her spending/pay. She has a regular debit card so if not, she can just use that, but a Pay Pal card would simplify things I think.

They *did* have just a debit card... because I have one! It's definitely NOT credit ~ debit only. I've had it for several years now and love it ~ makes my payments immediately accessible so I don't have to wait the ridiculous three days or whatever it is to get the funds from PayPal to my regular bank.

Sometimes, for larger expenditures, I *do* have to split it between my regular bank debit card and my PayPal debit card (usually at the vet!) but they never seem to mind as long as they get paid. smiling smiley

I have had a Paypal debti card for years, works great...It is a debit/credit, where it can be run without a pin. (I am terrible about remembering pin.) It does take 3 days to transfer to a bank account, which is a bit of a pain if you are in a hurry. But if something happens, and you go into the negative, they don't charge a fee, just say what can we do about this? I know this works on small amounts for a short time.
Yes, they do have a debit card and I use it frequently because I get 1% back which makes it worthwhile for me.
I have never had a transfer from PayPal to my bank take 3 days. Usually it's the next day, sometimes the day after.

You're lucky. Maybe because I live in Canada, transfer from PayPal very seldom
takes one day. More often than not, three to five days or longer. But nothing beats
the snail mail. Cheques arrive in the mail at least 6 to 15 days. Perhaps the cheques
were not mailed as dated.

I will check that PayPal debit card. Sounds better than the transfer.
Maybe being in Canada is it. My old business I got paid almost exclusively via PayPal. I transferred money weekly and as long as I did it by Wednesday night it would always be in my account by Friday. If I did it early enough in the day it would be there on Thursday.

The debit card is fantastic. Especially adding the 1% cash back. Just make sure you run it as credit and not debit.

Rather than the way PayPal works, it is likely the additional time is caused by the way your bank receives and credits the funds.

True. My bank would make the funds available as soon as they saw the incoming transfer.

I have one too and used it for all the PayPal paying companies, still do. I was thrilled when i discovered you can withdraw cash at Chase ATMs from your PayPal account. But in the last year the fee to withdraw cash went to $3.00! Yes, I could make a small purchase and get cash back for no fee, but occasionally I got caught with not enough cash on a cash only shop and nowhere to make a small purchase. So, I opened a Schwab Bank checking. Free any ATM withdraws, no foreign transaction fees, Schwab customer service, which I have found to be pretty good, and photo check capture.
Now my direct deposit companies, and check paying MSC's, go there. The PayPal companies remain intact. Also keeps my mystery shopping accounting from mingling with our household accounts.

I have the Paypal debit card as well. I use it for the MSC's (like Market Force and TrendSource) that pay direct deposit. I don't want to give my real bank information due to paranoid reasons so I use the debit card as a direct deposit destination. It is kind of fun to use the debit card for MS purchases (when a credit card is allowed). The expenses come from that account and then I get to watch it grow when these purchases are replaced and add the fee to it. I feel kind of like one of those rich people that flip items as I can take a small grocery purchase, add a little work to it, and end up with more money.

I've had one for years. I'll have to check on using it for a direct deposit destination as I don't know how you would do that because there is no routing or account number.
Is there any ATM at which I can use the PayPal debit card to simply withdraw money and not be charged a fee?

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
Imagator, On the Paypal debit card's website, there is a section for Direct Deposit. It will give you a routing number and an account number which you will use just like you would a regular checking account.

Ah... good point. Because it *always* took two to three days to have the funds be usable in the bank I was transferring them to. So for two or three days, I had absolutely *no* way to access that money. Really annoying. But perhaps my bank's fault rather than PayPal's. smiling smiley

I finally just quit transferring, and just use two cards if I must, for the big stuff. Which isn't that often. And I got over the OCD-ish need to have all my money in one place so I could see the nice big amount. Heh. smiling smiley

Not as far as I know. When I first found out, a couple of years ago, it was free but now it has risen to $3. And it's only at Chase ATMS
Best thing to do to get cash back is accept a grocery shop and get cash back (if the guidelines allow cards to be used. I know there is a few out there that require cash -- Sinclair's bulk purchase grocery requires cash.)

IBW1000. I think we may be talking about two different PayPal products. I do see direct deposit information for the PayPal PREPAID debit Mastercard but not their original PayPal debit business Mastercard which I've had for about 8-9 years.
I have had a Paypal debit card since the first started offering them. Can't beat it.

The best feature is that if you don't have enough of a balance in Paypal to pay for your purchase - if you have linked it to your checking /savings account with your bank they will pull from that account to cover the purchase. This process usually takes 24-48 hrs, occasionally it is immediate.

I found out this week (once again) one of the reasons I really like having this card because my debit card number was stolen (this has happened a couple of times in the past - figured out those two times that it was an untrustworthy supplier for my retail biz). The big benefit here is that this card creates an extra layer between my bank account and the perpetrator/s.

Paypal also usually keeps a close watch on fraudulent charges and will take action.

I noticed an email notification that my "back up limit was approaching it's limit (you can choose a dollar amount limit on how much can be deducted from your bank account in any given period - definitely a good feature). I knew my back up limit was in the thousands so that was a big red flag since my recent purchases had all been small.

I contacted Paypal immediately. Within the previous 12hrs or so there were 7 fraudulent transactions and apparently the very first of these had already been denied by Paypal and a case opened - so they were allready on the alert by the time I caught wind of it. They took care of everything - even though I still needed to alert my bank as some of the ACH transactions would be fairly automatic and would need to be refused/returned by the bank.

Please note that the Paypal Debit card is part of a "business account" with Paypal. Most of the payments you receive through this Paypal account you hormally will be charged a commission (fee). Fortunately most MS companies have some kind of arrangement where either they are paying the fee or it is figured differently so there is no charge. If you receive payments from other sources you will be charged about a 3% fee.
I have one, it's great because the second someone sends you money it is available for you to access.

O.o o.O

I have paypal's debit card and use it with the Ace Cash shops. The $3 ATM fee is reimbursed by the msc. It also makes perfect sense to withdraw money from paypal instead of say, my local bank.

Yes, I thought of that. But I get my Hyperwallet transfer in one day.
Also, at times PayPal transfer does come in a couple of days, but
only if the MSC is based in Canada. All my PayPal transfers take
longer when the MSC are based in the US, so perhaps it is because
of the exchange rate.
