I would love to have such a neat gadget, but alas, I have no money for such things.

I tried ScanCam on my phone yesterday, but I ran into a couple of minor problems. One, the lighting was an issue. It didn't come out as clear as I like. Two, it saves in PDF. All the companies I work for want .jpg or .jpeg formats for scans. Third, I couldn't upload it to my Google Drive. I had to email it to myself, then when I got home, I had to upload it to my computer. Yeah, yeah, I know . . . why didn't I just plug my phone into my computer? Well, I'd still have to move and convert the file before uploading to the msc.

So . . . I'll just continue to bring my receipts home, scan and upload while I'm writing my report. <sigh>
Hymnsinger, the lighting can definitely be a problem with it, but in my car, I place it on my center console and turn on the overhead light, and it comes out great.

If you click the image you just took within CamScanner, it'll give you the option of saving it to your device (not just within the app)... when you do that, it saves as .jpg, not .pdf. Then you email it to yourself from within your gallery.

Has anyone tried other APPS, pd vs free, ease of use? Do you have to email to get the jpg forms? Can u just save to photos?
I've been using Tiny Scan for a couple years. There is a free version but also a paid version for $2.99. It's simple to use and since I always have my phone with me, portable. I scan the document, upload to dropbox, and it's on my computer to upload to any report grinning smiley. Way easier than having to connect to a scanner. Only problem is some MSC's won't take PDF's--why, no idea? Then I just take a photo with my cell phone-use the editing feature on my phone to resize and then upload to dropbox.

Of the five, I can comment for Genius Scan. I've used this app on my iPhone for years, even before I was a shopper. It can export scans to your photos or you can email as well. It can export as either PDF or JPG.
