what happens if they cancel the shop after I shop it?

I got an email today after I completed a shop, that has a reimbursement instead of a fee. They cancelled the shop! The email said that they had posted it for the wrong date, and sorry for the inconvenience. I had already submitted the shop, before I read the email, but they had sent it before I did the computer side (after I had actually shopped the location) they hadn't cancelled it in my account.
I sent them an email and told them I had already done the shop and uploaded the receipt, now I am waiting to hear back from the scheduler.
They have to pay me, right? Unless they can find another reason to reject the shop?

What do you mean, you had already submitted the shop, but it was before you had done the "computer side"??

I had completed the shop, made the required purchases. Then the email came in that said that they had cancelled the shop, but it came in while I was reporting the shop. I submitted the shop, then read the email that said it was cancelled.

The system accepted my shop, as if it had not been cancelled.

I don't see anything on the website that says the shop was cancelled, but did get an email from the scheduler apologizing for the mix up and saying that they had scheduled the shop window for the wrong dates, and were cancelling the shop. The email said I could reschedule on the correct date, but there are no shops posted for those dates.
This is an awkward situation. Perhaps, if you were to name the MSC, some of the experienced members could give you better advice.

Assuming the clock in your computer was accurate, as was the MSC computer's clock, then they can see that the email was sent while you were filling out the report. The honorable thing to do would be to honor the contract, although there are a range of possible answers. You may be told, "I'm sorry" or you may be offered a reimbursement of your expenses. Knowing the MSC you're dealing with would help us to better determine what you can expect.

I have done some gas station shops for them in the past and they paid pretty quickly. I just hate to be out the 15 bucks if they don't reimburse me.
I've found them very hard to get ahold of in an issue and not very willing to resolve issues satisfactorily. (In the least bit in favor of the shopper, that is.)

They sent an e-mail saying some shops were canceled. All shops for that client had been released at the same time instead of over a three week period. The e-mail said IF your shops were unassigned that you could reschedule. Your shops may not have been canceled. If you were able to enter them and they show up in your completed list, you don't need to worry.
I think you are right. I checked again, and the shop was scored a 5 of 5 so I think that it has been completed. YAY! I was a bit worried.

Thank you.
I guess they sent a bulk message out, if the message was sent after your shop had to be completed then you would be paid, which it sounds like is what happened.
Thank you all for your feedback. The shop was completed and accepted, so I guess now all I have to do is wait for the check! I appreciate this forum so much!
I know which shop you are referring to, as I got the email the day before shop date. It was moved to the following week. Unfortunately, I am going to be out of town, so I had to give up that shop. I'm happy they accepted the shop, but it would have been easy to return the clothing item to that particular store.

Smartshopper43 - The general opionion is that unless the shop specifically says that you can not make a return, that you can. Most of my purchases are small and it wouldn't pay to go back because of the time / distance involved. Some allow a return after a speficied period of time (and of course some require a return). Keep in mind that stores track returns, and some will eventually exclude you if you return too many. I say that happen in a Walmart last week. I couldn't believe how many items a woman was trying to return, all from different shopping trips, some with receipts, some without. I don't know what was going on there, unless the no receipt items were shop-lifted merchandise. But that is not what is being discussed here.

"Pay me sucka!!" That's what I'd be saying but in a more professional way. Glad it's working out for you!
