Schedulers...

I can come up with a lot more than three minutes. Trust me, even though I have just started scheduling, three minutes is a relatively short tirade.

What baffles me, is why does someone schedule an assignment, just to flake without even contacting the scheduler or even looking at the assignment?

Or, as most people know, most GfK assignments have a quiz before you can complete the assignment. Some of the shoppers don't even take the quiz.

Also, do some shoppers not grasp the concept of "a shop report is due within 12 hours of completion at the location"? They think 12 hours equals 24+ hours.

I am griping a little bit, but keep in mind that this is not every shopper. There are just a few of them who honestly should not be mystery shopping.

Most of the shoppers I deal with are awesome, but those few that make me want to beat my head against the desk is what drives me nuts!

Yeah, two words are my best, but, hey, those two words get the job done.

As a scheduler, Dante, I'm sure that 3-minute tirade comes in handy!

Dante, I'm a slow typist, but we cross posted and it's just as I suspected. Why are these shoppers allowed to continue to shop?

I wish I knew the answer. I'm all for giving someone an opportunity, but that is crazy. I have my own system for handling it: If you have not completed a shop for GfK and you flake, I will not assign you another one. Everything is handled on a case-by-case basis though.

I have had a few shoppers with multiple flake citations complete last minute assignments for me, so you can't always judge a person on their past. People grow up and mature.

Eh, I'm not always done in 12 hours.
I love a 12 hour deadline when the editor gets back to me in 12 days though.
That always makes me laugh.

Good luck. I always hated scheduling in the winter time.
"Can you drive 30 miles in the snow for $15 of reimbursement only Mexican food?"
For real. Not the best account I ever scheduled.
Dante, the problem sometimes with a 12 hour deadline is that I'm still out there after it. And here's another problem I sometimes have with a 12 hour deadline: I get home worn out and whipped and I can't hit another lick. The situation is I can't work across the street -- I have to drive. Therefore, on a big day I don't work for companies that can't roll with me a little on the report time. I understand that some companies absolutely have to have it no later than twelve hours, so I don't take their work if I'm not sure I can hit their deadline. Which means, lots of the time, I don't take their work.

I think the 12 hour deadline is insane, I think all reports should be due the calendar day after they're shopped. If I'm too dumb to remember yesterday, I'm too dumb to do this or anything else and I need to ramp up my ALZ pill dosage to the next level. However, I've noticed I don't get to make the rules.

Again, communication is a good thing in the instances you mentioned. I am willing to work around things for shoppers that are serious. My problem lies with some of the shoppers who take a shop and then don't want to do the work.
