They seem to still be with the original MSC here in Chicagoland....

It's 15 shops nationwide. I'm not saying the new company isn't getting the client, but currently this is only a test.

There are reasons that a body stays in motion
At the moment only demons come to mind
In regards to the poster that mentioned that the reimbursement doesn't cover the cost; every time I have done a 5 Guys shop, I found that a small cheese burger, fries and soft drink always came in under the reimbursement.

I am one of the shoppers that will do this shop even though it has a low payment because I love their food and am willing to do them as a treat to myself. Since I am getting a free meal that I really enjoy and the report is easy peasy to complete, I don't mind doing it for the small fee.
Would depend what your tax is. I'm in Canada. The $13 reimbursement doesn't cover a little fry, reg drink and little cheeseburger (by 41 cents). I'm okay with that, but I also don't take the shops for $6 fee, I wait till they get a little more desperate.
I'm going to the same 5-Guys tomorrow that I have shopped three times in the last 4 weeks. They keep calling and offering me $20 incentive and asking me to go the same or next day. It's in the tourist area of town and I'm guessing nobody else will touch it. The last two shops were on-line and call in for that location with the same manager present for all of them.

If they have not figured out I'm the shopper by now, they never will. They are not getting glowing reports either.
Saw Five Guys on the other MSCs board today, metro Denver area.

I have to agree with bgriffin though, that this is probably just a test and not a full-on transition to the new MSC (yet...)

Somewhere in the Midwest, shopping / auditing full time since 2014. Will use PV-500 for food! smiling smiley

Meh. Saw that location on the board. It's alright... I think that place doesn't even have the brewed tea or milkshakes.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
I truly love their burgers but will not do them for reimbursement only - how low can they go? Soon we will be paying to submit a report.
If they are being snapped up for reimbursement only you are doing a disservice to yourself and other mystery shoppers.
No fee?? That sucks. Any hints as to the new company? I still do them for the one the other one.
AFAIK, this was just a test by the potential new MSC. I don't see a wide list of shops on the board yet.

The MSC that was doing these test shops is a larger one you're probably already signed up with, lucky7s.

I like the food but it annoys me that I have to come out of pocket if I want a bigger burger or one with cheese, bacon etc. And I will never do a reimbursement only shop.
In Ohio its [deleted]. I have an assignment with them in the 15th

Mod note: Please do not link the MSC with its client. It's against forum rules and it's an ICA violation.
bunnyriley:

we do not reveal who shops what. It is against the agreements you signed with the companies you work for and against the rules of this forum. I have reported your post and a moderator will delete what you said.

You cannot ask. You cannot tell. You have to figure it out for yourself. You were asking in another thread about this and didn't get an answer there, so you came here and announced one of your own.

Please read the rules underneath the posting box before you post and spend some time in the New Shopper area. You're not going to have that assignment very long if you don't learn to respect the contract you signed.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

Bunny, besides respecting the contract agreement, I sometimes feel there are "plants" (not green plants) who come in here and see if someone will squeak the information. Great way to get banned from all the MSC's. I realize you don't understand that, but for the sake of those who come in here who "might" be employed by the MSC, you understand they might just be trying to see if we truly honor the contract and not answer this in public forum or private messaging. smiling smiley
Around here, in my experience, most of the fast food, or I guess five guys isn't actually fast food but just one step above that, anyways most of those type Shops are more reimbursement than fee. However, you're getting a free meal, that does constitute money; its just not cash. I take those type of Shop so I can have a free meal on a day I'm out doing shops in a particular area. I have to eat, why not get paid for it or get it for free? As far as another company taking five guys, I don't think that's what's happening. I know that there's another shop that I do with the same MSC, Lowes and I saw it announced with a different MSC and thought the same thing. So I looked into it by questioning my Scheduler and found out that is not at all what is happening. Lowes has decided to have two different MSCs and that's it. The questionaire that you have to fill out is exactly the same as are the guidelines. As a matter of fact, when I asked my Lowe's Scheduler about it, she had to get back to me because she hadn't heard a thing about them leaving and had several shops to schedule still. When she got back to me is when she let me know that Lowe's had no plan to cancel with them or anything of the like, and that was two months ago. The original MSC is still scheduling them regularly as is the new one.

The reimbursement is $11 around here, that covers everything unless you order a double burger. Fees start at $6.

I get the little burger, little fry and regular drink and it's $9.81 smiling smiley
I generally value fast food meals at about $3 no matter how much I pay.....I estimate how much money I would spend on meal from the grocery store on average....so if the shop is worth $3 or I otherwise planned on eating there...I would consider it for reimbursment only....

I rarely go to 5 guys unless it is a shop....but one day I felt like going...and didn't want to spend $10 on a meal....so I loggged on...and the one in my area was available...

I thought all toppings were included in the price..whether you get none or all..
Cheese and bacon are not considered toppings. They both cost extra. A two pattie burger costs more than a one pattie burger.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008

Sadly when your tax is more the reimbursement doesn't cover it :/ I get the same, it's 13.41 in Ontario. Plus side, reimbursement is $13. But it limits what reimbursement covers.

I have not done these shops yet... Am I allowed to get a tea? I kinda thought they would ask to buy soda...

Make sure your final order has one entrée/sandwich, one order of fries, and one fountain beverage.

They hand you an empty drink cup. The receipt does not indicate what you filled the cup with, it just says fountain beverage.

The drink station has sweet and unsweetened tea next to the fountain drinks or Freestyle machine and a container with lemon wedges. I always get tea and add lemon to it. It's never been an issue. This client is one of the best fast food shops as far as letting you order any food item, fries and a drink.

They want you to custom order the food item and see if they get the order correct.
There are still on my job board. In fact, my phone and cell have rang three times each this morning from the foreign call center. I know exactly which shop they are calling about, but I'm heading in the opposite direction today. I usually can order just under the reimbursement, except for the mall shop. The prices are higher at the mall and always over the reimbursement even with the little fries.
I did one last week, took my sister and her kids. Cost me $35 for the five of us and they all had water to drink. I gave her my debit card to order their meals and used my business card to order mine. Money loss but fun time and it made me look like I wasn't a shopper.

Topings on the list - yes.
Bacon, cheese, a second patty - nope.

Yep...I saw them in Phoenix for reimbursement only. But they are also still with the other MSC.

The drink stations vary by location. Some have fresh tea, some do not. In my area I have never seen a Freestyle machine. Most have the typical soda dispenser system, many only have one option for sweetened tea there. A few have a separate Fuze tea system dispenser.

At least there is still a fee though a single/regular/regular puts you right around
the full reimbursement depending on the location.
