Is there a Stopwatch or Timing App that allows the user to press the volume buttons on the side of the iPhone to control Start/Stop and Lap/Reset? I need to be able to keep my phone in my pocket and the App that I am using currently only uses the touch screen buttons.

Thanks in advance for your help smiling smiley

What about screenshotting? You'll only have to press two buttons simultaneously for this feature.

To detail this further, either screenshot the clock on your phone's home screen, as it shows the seconds hand, and/or just screenshot the stopwatch built into your phone.

Yes....Mystery Shopwatch Lite. It's free, you can dim the screen, you can change the marker time display and you can set the volume up or down buttons to add a marker. The volume buttons do not start or stop the app tho.

I use Hybrid Stopwatch and Timer on Android. It allows the volume buttons to be used for start/stop and lap times. It is very handy. It also has a feature that I can text, email or save the time/lap info for reference later.

Could I have a receipt please?
Unfortunately, Apple doesn't allow developers to 're-purpose' the side buttons at this time... Android does. So unless there is a work-around I'm missing, there won't be an iPhone app that will register time by pressing those. Too bad - It's a very handy feature!

I've used the mystery stopwatch app on droid since January. It's been so valuable to me I paid for the app when I got a new phone this month.
I have an unsmart samsung slider phone ($10 @ walmart) and it has a built-in stopwatch. My finger stays over the select button, while holding it, and a simple press gets the time intervals.
