Shop accepted; I'm happy, and won't fret so much next time!

I would love to do Five Guys in my town. I'm registered with a number of MSCs but apparently not the one who has this client. Can you tell me or give me a hint as to which MSC has these shops. Thanks
When I go with my wife or son, they go ahead and order and I head into the restroom for a couple of minutes while they go through the line. You have to evaluate the restroom anyway. Then I go through the line by myself.
None of the local Five Guys ever let me wait and have always made the suggestion for fries and / or drink almost immediately..
This is what I do when I have guests. I let them take a seat while I order my meal without the fries, which, more often than not, are suggested by the cashier. Then I pay for my order. I start timing. I tell the cashier that I have more orders for my guest/guests and I pay for them separately. Then I ask my guest to get some peanuts and drinks with cups provided, while I get ketchup or vinegar in front of the counter where I observe how many times the fries are shaken, the cleanliness of the kitchen, etc.

When my order comes, I note down the time in my head and if the crew was smiling or friendly. The rest of the order, I do not time. I check carefully my order and after I have eaten a few fries, I visit the washroom. My guests check their orders too but that is not going in my report so I let them handle it.

For the sum of expenses, I total both orders. I add the tip I placed on the box. Then for my order, I already have the lone receipt with a sandwich, fries and a drink, which is the only one scanned and timed. Done!

The MSC won't know if you had extra guests with you if you only submitted the receipt that contained your individual order.

They will know because you will be asked about the total expense incurred. Then another question on the cost of your meal alone. The report does not ask for the whole receipt but only for your total expense. Then the next question would be just your own meal cost. And that is their only concern for reimbursement purposes.
To avoid the awkward pause, I place the original order, then turn to my purse, fish out my wallet, open it, pull out a credit card or cash, and fumble if necessary. This gives plenty of time for the upsell without looking foolish. At the locations I shop, they always come through but, if they didn't, I would say just before handing them the payment, "Oh, can you add XXX to that?"
We all hope the employees will do what they are required to do. I wish we could tell people that we want them to do a good job because it makes our reporting easier. Having said that...stick to your guidelines. We/you do not get paid enough to have assignments rejected for a simple error. Rest assured, the additional time you spend at the counter will not be noticed by the person behind you.

I was in Daytona Beach for business and did 2 5 Guys shops shops today (Lunch and dinner). If you like 5 Guys this is a great shop!!! Good luck.
Do not forget to check your shopper sheet. Is this a web shop, phone shop or dining shop. Are you to order a milk shake
I'm doing my first five guys this evening and appreciate all the comments. I was a little surprised by the number of narratives; not that they look difficult just more than I've had for other ff shops.

risinghorizon, you tip at 5 Guys?
Yes, if they have a tip jar. This topic had been discussed in one or two threads, so I won't elaborate.
Okay. I missed that discussion. It never occurred to me, but I always pay with a credit card and there is no area on the receipt slip to tip, and I've never seen a tip jar on any of the counters at locations in my area.
The discussion was about tipping and some disagreed with tipping or putting some coins in the tip jar. It's really a personal practice that I tip when there is a jar and when I pay by credit card, my tip is always in cash.

If they don't have a tip jar, then don't worry about it. If there is a tip jar, it is not obligatory to place anything on it. But I do tip and I don't want to highjack this thread if anyone disagrees with tipping in jar or cash only. As far as the Guideline is concerned, tipping is not even mentioned.

All the Five Guys I have visited have a tip jar.
It makes me wonder if the tip jar is supposed to be there.

Oh, I would never say that anyone should NOT tip. It just never occurred for me to do so at a fast food restaurant. Sorry for continuing the hijacked thread...LOL.
One Five Guys that we eat at has a tip jar; the other one doesn't.

Based on the inconsistency I am fairly certain they are not supposed to have tip jars out and the jars are removed when a visit from corporate is expected.

All the of The Five Guys near me have tip jars. Since these are franchises, maybe it is up to the franchise owner?

Never mind I just got to the question online and it's a max of 300 words. So there's my answer. HELP! Could someone give me a hint how in depth my response to the last question? How thorough is thoroughly?

wwin, I just give a simple overall summary, one to two lines, even if I end up repeating myself, from previous questions.
Having done numerous of this particular shop, I agree. It is simpler to order for myself and receive the check with just my purchase on it, I have a straight-forward receipt with my order and my sales tax. I don't have to break it out of a multi-order receipt. As you point out, it also is far easier for the cashier to go through the "would you like fries or a drink" portion if taking just one person's order. The rest of my group orders after me. Timing is also easy as when the order number is called it is for my order only.

Good evening,

Here is what I have been doing for years and it usually ends in a stare-down. I just keep my mouth shut and after 7 seconds (usually both the crew member and myself end up staring at each other) I just ask for the fries & drink.

Then in the survey, I just say “After an excruciating wait of 7 seconds of dead silence, I placed the order for fries & a drink myself”.
It’s honest and it fulfills the requirement.

Good luck in the future.
