Five Guys Milkshake update

After reviewing the guidelines, due to many concerns posted here, I decided to email the MSC. I suggested they allow us to order the shake after we receive our dine in meal.

Here is the response (including the grammar mistake):
"You do not have to order the milkshake at the same time as you three required items. If you do order it after you have completed your meal, be sure you submit both receipts together."

I had no weird looks when I added the milkshake to my required order, this though does allow our shop to look more natural.

They only care about the timing and receipt information for the entree, fries and drink order. I'd still like the guidelines to address this though. If anyone is concerned, just do what I did and email them at least several days before your shop.

I always buy my milkshake at the end of my meal before I leave. Never had a problem.

Well, this helps immensely! I always thought you had to order it at the same time as the meal. Makes it a lot easier to get it afterward, like you're making dessert out of it!

Thanks, Isaiah!

what do you guys think about the shakes there? i was surprised by how much i liked the coffee one the first time i got it... the girl made it really strong. i definitely prefer it to a frappucino, or coolata. the second time i got one it was terrible, just tasted like cream... that one got thrown out.

The shakes are new too my area. I have only come across them at two locations so far, only one time as a required purchase. I went with chocolate. Great flavor, the consistency was OK. Personally, I try to not eat sugary foods any more but a few sips won't hurt me. It's like a required desert purchase on a restaurant shop, I have a couple of bites/sips then push the rest aside.

I take the Freddy's approach and ask to hold my shake until the end of the meal.

We had the vanilla shake. It was far too sweet for me; glad DH liked it!

I find the 5 Guys shakes incredibly sweet and I can't drink much of them.....and I love sweets...

It's true about the "shake timing" ....They don't care how long the shake takes to make, just the burger and fries. smiling smiley
Good to know. Thanks!

Last time I did a shop that included a shake, I just said that my kid wanted me to bring one home. smiling smiley

I thought the guidelines always said you could order the shake separately.

I knew that the timing of the shake didn't matter, but I always thought that you had to order the shake at the same time as your meal; they just didn't care if it came before or after your entree' was ready....

I read them, could not find any reference one way or another.

Am I glad milkshakes are not available in any of the locations around my area. That would give me another excuse not to do them.
