Slick Scheduler

So - recently I decided to try a very undesirable shop (just wanted to check it out). I requested the shop to be done the end of this week.

Lo and behold, I woke up this morning and found out that the scheduler assigned TWO SHOPS with the completion date of tomorrow. Now, all day, we have been e-mailing back and forth and she is trying to get me to do both shops.

I want to cancel both at this point. Did I mention it was very undesirable??

One time I requested a list of ~25 or so shops from a scheduler , he tried to sneak in 2 other suuuuuper undesirable ones.

No thank-you, luckily looked at them all immediately after he assigned them and politely let him know about his 'mistake.' There's no way he accidentally assigned them, they were suuuuuuper undesirable ones, he had to know what he was doing.
I had this scheduler who had scheduled some grocery shops at the last minute. I had requested the shops when they became available to post. It was one week before the shop date was suppose to start. I checked emails and their website for confirmation of the assignment. None. Then, this scheduler assigned the shop to me the night before it was due. I work the night shift so I did not have the opportunity to check it until the next morning at home. I emailed the scheduler and informed her that I already made plans for the day and would not be available to do the shop. She got upset with me, emailing me that I requested the shop and was expected to do it. I replied back and informed her that I would like to help her out but I can't do shops that were assigned at the last minute. By the way, the grocery store shop had a 3 day range period to it. She was trying to be sly and wrote that she emailed me the night before so that was not a last minute notice. I called their contact number, asked to speak to a supervisor or someone about this scheduler and relayed my situation. The person I spoke to certainly handled it because I never received any more last minute shops without my knowledge. This scheduler also assign me a couple of grocery shops that I did not request. I can't reveal the name of the scheduler since I see she works with other MSC to schedule shops.
All the more reason to save emails and avoid negotiations over the phone...or make sure to get everything discussed on the phone sent in an email!
I agree, JAS. There are schedulers out there who have assured me that the bonus is added after the assignment is done, due to some kind of software issue.......no, thanks. If I don't have it in writing beforehand, it's like doing it for free. Plus, I've seen too many reports on these forums where negotiated fees/PAD/bonuses were not confirmed or paid. Always get it in writing, confirmed and agreed by all parties.
I won't do a shop unless the bonus is in my log. If it is not in my log I email scheduler ahead and state this. I have never had a problem.
I looked at a job listed on Gigspot and when I returned to my email I saw that a scheduler had assigned all 4 of the same type of shops to me (apartment). I was shocked! Now maybe I accidentally requested them (still a newbie) but I thought I was only looking at one. I did commit to do 3 of them and am in the process of finding out the hard way how difficult a targeted shop can be! And one of the targets only works one day a week at the complex. My point is I truly don't think I even requested any of these...I was just looking at the guidelines. Has this happened to anyone else?
No, I have never used GigSpot. I have heard of other shoppers being assigned shops that they did not apply for but it wasn't GigSpot.
The above happened to me and yes I used Gigspot. Perhaps you got another slick scheduler and s/he lucked out that you agreed to do at least three of the shops.

I camcelled both of mine!

I don't even look at gigspot because the email say it's a package deal. While the majority of shops are within a reasonable distance, they don't work with my established routes.

It rates up with a scheduler asking for a shop and doesn't give the vital information, as in it will probably last longer than an hour, report times are 12 hours, massive amount of pictures that should not include customers and shorts you on the bonus because you're going to the town for another scheduler.

Sorry, but my schedule is tight with the other scheduler and she's reasonable working with me and other schedulers so I might make an extra buck. I will not for any amount of money jeapordize my relationship with the tried and true scheduler for a lousy $15, plus the extra stress.

Not worth it.

And I don't kiss and tell. So please don't ask.
