Not doing anymore Target mobile phone shops.

I was scheduled to do a Target mobile phone shop last week. The store opens at 8 AM. I got there around 9, and was told the Mobile Rep will not be in until 11:30 am, This is not mentioned in the guidelines. I rescheduled for this week. I got to the store at 12:15PM. Now I'm told the Mobile rep will not be in until 1PM. I have other shops to do, cannot wait around. I did some other shops. I had one other Target phone shop to do on the way home. I got there at 1:10 PM. The mobile rep was not there. They did not know when the Mobil rep would be in. This is the last time I do a phone shop for Target. From now on I stick with cell phone stores. No more Target or Walmart.

Has anyone else had this issue of doing shops where the employees show up whenever? I know this is not the MSC problem.

In all honesty, have you EVER completed a successful shop and received payment for it? You are always posting about failed shops and rejected reports. I think it may be time for you to move away from MS'ing.
@johnb974, did the guidelines mention anything about waiting for 20 minutes for the Mobile Rep to show up? If the Mobile Rep is still not there or not available, you get POV (usually a small purchase or a picture), submit your report and get paid. You might want to try other MSCs, such as Second to None and GfK (not a ICA violation because the big box store is not the client). There are probably many other MSCs who will pay if the target doesn't show up--just make sure you get the POV.

I do have a picture of the store. I'm just annoyed that the store doesn't have a regular mobile phone employee that works during a set time. I'm also annoyed the guidelines don't tell you the mobile phone employee might not be there until sometime after 1PM. I would never had taken the shop if I knew the employee started that late in the day. With this experience I would NEVER buy a mobile phone from Target.

The same guidelines are used for ATT stores, Target, Walmart, Sams Club, and Costco. It appears the mobile phone employees don't all start at the same time. From what I got at Target, their Mobile Phone employees come in between 11:30 and 1. Sometimes later. It's hard to do mystery shop when there's no set starting time for the employee you need to see.

I've done many of these ATT shops before. Always at the ATT store or Best Buy. From now on I'll only do phone shops at the brand store or Best Buy. At least you know the employees in that department will be there.
I have had this happen as well at Target and the other stores like warehouse clubs and Wal-mart. From what I remember, I did the iinteraction with the electronics employee that was on hand or waited the allotted time. I made my purchase (if appliacable) and reported the shop. I have always been paid.

For these shops you had to wait for the Mobile phone expert. I could not wait around 20 to 40 minutes, had other shops to get done. I took on too many shops for one day.....15.

Fifteen shops in one day? Wow! I MS part-time and rarely average that many in a month. smiling smiley

These shops were within a few miles of each other. 3 shops were in the same Mall, 2 other shops were in the same store.
I've done the Target mobile phone shops but they aren't offered in my area anymore. I believe the guidelines said to wait for an alotted time to see if someone showed up. You make a small purchase of $1.00 as POV and state what happened. I gotten paid when that happened and was asked by the scheduler to do the shop again but during a specific time the MSC provided.
If you really want to know when the Target Mobile employees will be there, you can call the Target store, ask for electronics and ask them. They will tell you.

The first time I went to the store, at 10 am, I asked what time the Mobile employees come in. I was told around 11:30 am. The next week I went back at 12:15 PM and was told around 1 PM. Unfortunately I'm only in this area once a week and only during the morning.

They don't come in at the same time every day. (i.e. they don't work 11-8 daily.) They schedule them during peak times. So, maybe 11-8 one day. 12-8 another day. 1-10 etc. They don't usually work mornings.
My inquiring mind would like to know: What are the posted hours for the department? Are these hours available online or if you call? If the guidelines require a 20 minute grace period, and you stated you have other same store shops, exactly why couldn't you check back between or after the other two quick assignments to satisfy the 20 minutes and successfully finish the shop?

And please, no more lame excuses or disparaging remarks. Blame shifting is not a positive quality.

By the way, I had done the shops when there was only associate available and two customers were ahead of me.Sometimes you can't count on going in and out quickly. The wait time was over 30 minutes.

Lame excuses, disparaging remarks, blaming shifting???? Where did I EVER do any of that? Clearly your comprehension is lacking in reading of posts. Let's try this one more time....no mention in the guidelines of what hours the Mobile experts in these stores work.....the employees did not know what time the mobile experts started. I'm only in this area one day a week.

I can answer this.

The hours vary by week, by day actually. If you call that morning, the electronics team members will check the schedule for you.
I will not do any shop where the employee's schedule can change day to day. I have shown up at a couple of these shops where the employee wasn't even there at their scheduled time. Unless I'm assured of getting paid for being there at a certain time.
The shop was on my route, and only paid $7.50. So how much effort would you put into it? I had other shops that paid much more on the same route.

I don't disagree with that. I'm just letting you know how to find them.
Well, for one thing, they are not Target employees. It is a merchandising job I have gotten the Emails about the positions.

That is something shoppers need to know. When doing a Target phone shop, you're not talking to a store employee and they don't work store hours. There's no set time for these people to come in.

WTH?
Target Mobile are not merchandisers. Contractors, not merchandisers. They work side by side with Electronics.
They are not a Target Team Members, but unless you work there, it's hard to know that.
You obviously are not a merchandiser are you???? It is NOT a merchanding job. far from it.
