Five Guys question

Doing my first shop tomorrow and don't see that there are pictures required. Am I overlooking something? Thanks in advance smiling smiley

I do not believe that pictures are required for this shop unless the location is closed for some unforeseen reason. As always, thoroughly review your guidelines in advance to make sure things have not changed.

You are good. The only pic would eventually be your receipt unless you use a scanner.

Thanks for your replies. I read the requirements 3 times but convinced myself I must be looking over a required photo, lol!
Ahhh....sitting here digesting my last minute bonused Five Guys. So nice to have dinner taken care of.
Just did one tonight and like everyone else said no photos except the receipt photo is needed, Good luck!
FYI...I see others indicate that they take a smartphone photo of their receipt. I always prefer using my "Fujitsu scan snap" scanner. It corrects skewed images, and best of all, converts the receipt to pdf image with text that I can copy and paste into my reports as needed. A time-saver.
These shops do not require a photo, only a scan of the receipt. Pay attention to the employees as you will have to describe them and their actions in detail.
Fujitsu scan snap looks cool but at over $200 it would take a lot of shops to make it cost effective compared to snapping a smartphone photo. I wish I had another use for one to rationalize the purchase.
I use Genius Scan app on my iPhone. Its free and does PDF or JPEG. It produces a better image of a receipt than the camera
Others have answered the question already.

Just my 2 cents: While this forum is a great resource to answer questions on specific kinds of assignments, do your best to read and interpret the guidelines on your own without the need of having to turn to this forum to answer questions like this. Building that self-confidence and learning to quickly interpret guidelines of different shops is a crucial soft skill to have as a shopper.

With that being said, please don't take offense to my post and good luck on your upcoming shop! smiling smiley

I just looked this nifty looking piece of equipment. Personally, if your main usage would be for mystery shopping and auditing, I agree with wwin. The reason why most of us use our smartphones to just take a picture and adjust / crop using apps like Genius Scan is because it's just as fast to "scan" our documents and it's free.

the Fujitsu scanner is useful for sooo many other items...other home receipts, bills, medical, finances, brochures, pictures, business cards (where it automatically picks up the fields into your contact list), and so much more than just mystery shopping paperwork. Just sayin' I prefer good tools over cable TV ($50+/month) and expensive ($50+/month) wireless accounts (I use Republic Wireless and WiFi <$13/month). Minimizing monthly bills, increasing savings, and good tools allowed me to retire early.

We all have our needs, so good for you for finding a tool that's worth it for you.

Personally, my smartphone to scan quick things (including business cards!) suffices with the need of a dedicated scanner. I have a much cheaper flatbed scanner with an auto feed if I need to obtain a much clearer and accurate scan. Or I can just bring what I need to my office and use their scanners, when absolutely needed.

Lol not sure what our finances have to do anything, but I'm far from retiring anyways and do understand your views for minimizing monthly bills. I'm the same way; minimize monthly expenses where I can, but in my situation, I need to satisfy the multiple tenant living in my house.

Glad you asked--I've been shopping more and saw a Five Guys shop. I usually take food pics just in case because occasionally I get asked questions. I did a cafeteria shop and mentioned how charred and black my fried chicken looked. The company asked for specifics and understood when I emailed photos of a blackened piece of "fried" chicken. I may snag this shop up. The fee is up to $12 right now plus reimbursement. I'm going to have downtime in an area soon with a shop.

Be very careful of scanned images! MF deactivated me because 2 of my receipts had a couple of skewed characters. The skew was not visible to me when I uploaded them. I resent them the receipts in another format and all was well. They had a couple of solid reports from me and clear receipts in their possession, but they still deactivated me and refused payment. Up until this point, all my shops had been accepted without incident.

I have scanner phobia now as I've been scanning for years without incident.......one teeny, tiny glitch and my throat was slit.
Microsoft has an app for scanning receipts. It's called Office Lens and works nicely with the other apps/software they have. It's free too.
