Do you reply to editors' emails?

Not the emails requiring additional information. Of course we all reply to those as best we can. I mean the email with your grade in it. Often the editor will write a sentence or two, such as "Great job," or "This feedback will help our client. Thank you." I never respond, but now I'm wondering if I'm being rude? My main goal is to stay out of everyone's hair. I don't contact schedulers with questions, I don't email or call the MSC; I'm low maintenance smiling smiley. So, in keeping with that, I never respond to the editors' comments in the grading email. Does anyone?

I will - if only to say, "Please" or "Thank you. I appreciate your efforts.", etc... I don't respond to the same email 6x's a day looking for the same ol' car or bank shops.
They don't need our additional 10,000 e-mails saying "Thank you" for the 10/10, do they? I'd think they get enough without it. It's just a courtesy for them to tell us and I appreciate it. What is not good is when they post a need for clarification or the fact a picture didn't load on the MSC job page and don't let you know. Then you never see the problem until you try to get a shop and your score is hurt. Ouch!

I have responded when I am told, "Thank you for a job well done" and a nice note inside.
I actually built a working friendship with a scheduler who wrote me a great thank you for doing a job well done.
Now we write and she'll call with jobs she knows i like. Editors, no, unless it make an impression. Never hurts to drop a response to a nice word.

Live consciously....
Most of my shoppers do not respond when I send them their comments. I don't think they're rude. However, I don't get upset about the shoppers who do respond either. I just smile and move on. Now I'm thinking... I hope they don't think I'm rude that I didn't respond to their response.

Thanks. Good to know!

Now you're dancing in the 'should I respond to their response that responded to the response I responded to' territory tongue sticking out smiley

I had a long night recently, trying to finish a shop where I was literally falling asleep typing! When I got the "thanks for a great report" email, I sent one back thanking her and telling her I was nervous about what I had clicked "submit" to!! She didn't respond, but I know she had to have put in some extra work with what I turned in that night!

Most of the time I would say I do not respond to those email. They do put a little smile on my face though. It's great to hear about a job well done.

Doing what I can to enhance the life of my family! I LOVE what I do smiling smiley
I don't respond to the email scores. I don't think it is rude. I don't think the editors have time to open all those emails if we all responded.

One thing that I do is reply back to the scheduler that my job has been submitted. They do appreciate this, at least the schedulers I have a rapport with do.
I reply if the email I received is more than a canned sentence that they send to everyone. If it's clear that it's the same thing they send everybody I leave it alone.
That's good to know. I really appreciate feedback notes from an editor and always reply with a "thank you" for both raving reviews and constructive criticism. I've wondered before if I'm just bogging down their email. I only respond when they actually take the time to write something specific to my report. It's nice to know you guys appreciate the kudos smiling smiley
I have when clarification has been needed, so the editor knows I fixed it.
There was one editor that made me scream because the MSC software would not and still does not allow me to fix the orientation of my POV's. I had tried to write the report on my iPad and the stupid thing always puts the pics sideways. My scheduler tried to fix it, the head honcho tried to fix it and finally the issue disappeared.

That said, I do wish I could thank editors who offer constructive criticism. At least I have an idea of not making the same mistake over and over again.

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning; the devil shudders...And yells OH #%*+! SHE'S AWAKE!
I only reply when they write to me personally, either with questions obviously or when they provide feedback. I find it kind of annoying they still send out emails addressing me by first name but its still a mass email blast to everyone.
I received an email thanking me for my good report. A grade of 9 was given because I didn't follow directions. The shop required an in-store visit and a phone call. They were supposed to be 2 different scenarios, which is where I went off the rails. I thanked the editor for the feedback, and told her that I have also been known to color outside the lines.
I wish ACL stopped using the same form response. We have to write each shop free hand - is it too much to ask to be told what you did right or wrong outside of a form response? If I ask the editor for clarification ironically at ACL they can never ever tell me specifics - why? Because they use a form response and have zero clue as they moved on to the next report.
Once in awhile I do. Like after submitting a theater shop, I received a grade of 10/10 with a lovely comment nearly fifteen minutes after submitting. I thanked her for her speedy response and she wrote back that it was a little slow that evening and she was keeping up. She had the time, and seemed to appreciate the recognition for her timeliness.

I like getting constructive feedback, because it will help me improve, but i hardly get any, not sure if that's good or not.

i think you need to respond smiling smiley
I believe less is more in this business when it comes to post-shop discussion with the msc.

Totally agree. I don't want to bother them if its unnecessary. All I want them to be is prompt and fair and treat me the way they would like to be treated.
