Are schedulers & editors different people usually?

It seems everyone knows who the schedulers are for a mystery shopping company. But, are schedulers also ever editors for the same shops?

I think I've had that happen with one shop I did. Otherwise, the editors seem nameless and never contact you unless there's a problem, right?

I edit and schedule, though currently my primary focus is scheduling. I do edit the same client I schedule for (but I am not restricted to just editing that client). However, you are correct. In most cases, you will not hear from an editor unless they have a question, there is a problem, or if they are one of the companies that send feedback/grades at the end of a shop.

But, as I said, depends on the MSC. There are so many, and each is run very differently. Some use ICs for schedulers and editors. Some use ICs just for scheduling and employees for editing. Some use employees for scheduling and ICs for editing. Some outsource their editing or scheduling to a different company. This mix could even change client to client. Some telecommute, some have a physical office.

So, would you pursue editing in much the same way as mystery shopping, signing up with several MSCs? Are you typically assigned reports to edit or do you select them from the site when you're available? I'm very interested in exploring this option. I've been a MS for 5 years. I enjoy it, but would love another option to side hustle from home. Thanks in advance.

I think I've heard of quality control too.

If I'm not mistaken, that's one level "up" (not the best word) or "beyond" editing. After your shop is edited, I think it goes through one final round of review called qc if I'm not mistaken.

I think most schedulers are not editors, but I know at least on scheduler who also edits my shops.
