I've just started shopping again after a long hiatus, and this is the first thread I see.... Disheartening that some shoppers think it's OK to return an item for which they've been reimbursed and/or for which the shop guidelines state not to return.
I may be wrong, but generally speaking, I think if you get reimbursement for an item, you're usually not allowed to return it--even if your reimbursement doesn't cover the full purchase price. I've never seen it allowed in any of the shops I've done where I've had a purchase and reimbursement. But I don't do many shops that require a purchase, other than purchase and return shops, so my experience is relatively limited.
I don't think "double dipping" is what MSCs have in mind when they reimburse for an item. If shoppers feel they have to get paid twice for an item they must purchase in order to "make it worthwhile," then they simply shouldn't accept the shop.
Obviously, if the shop guidelines say it's OK to return, no problem. If the guidelines are silent on the issue, best thing to do is to ask the scheduler if a return is allowed. If not, then don't. It's so simple.
