Where Are You Shopping Today?

@JASFLALMT i have been known to do that. I have a little tabletop coleman that i often cook stuff in the courtyard that i dont want stinking up my kitchen. Generally I just get it when I'm out.

So what we do is reimagine the electric frying pan. Instead of square it should be rectangular, the exact size of a pound of bacon. And with a little spout at the bottom for draining fat maybe even during cooking. And we'll call it The Baconator.

It isn't messy in my electric frying pan. Like I said, I can cook a whole pound. I cover it with a lid so it isn't messy, and after it cools, I can easily scrape the solid grease into the trash. I would imagine an air fryer could do it since it sounds like it can cook anything. I like the way bacon smells, it reminds me of weekend mornings with my dad when he would make bacon and pancakes. I would wake up to the smell of bacon and now I find it comforting.

Going south today to finish up some store visits (QC product retrievals).
My electric frying pan is rectangular and is exactly the right size for a pound of bacon! No drain spout, though. Which is good because it makes the pan multi-purpose. Although I do like your idea, I don't want this pan to have a singular purpose.
Oh yeah, and my grandmother kept a jar of bacon grease next to her stove that she used to cook so many things with! She lived to be 92...bacon saturation and all.
I used to enjoy reading this thread to see what my fellow shoppers are doing. Lately, not so much. Can we return the the thread’s title topic please?
Today was 2 WaWa shops.
Tomorrow is a home improvement store for a nice bonus. I'm not sure what to get. I'm at capacity on widgets and doo dads. I do, however, have a never ending list of questions.

Irene - Thanks to you and this thread I am now shopping Ralph's regularly and have almost no grocery expenses anymore. I used to shop Ralph's but stopped because I found the form too cumbersome. After reading your posts and learning about the new form I started to do them again. It is so much easier now. The only problem is that revisiting the same locations once a month has got to make me memorable as I see the same employees in produce, floral etc. I'll just continue until they tell me to stop. The competitor shops are great too.

Also, thanks to everyone for getting this thread back on topic.
Kenasch..I have been shopping (on my own) Ralph's since I moved to L.A. in 1970. Customers tend to shop the same groceries over and over, and I have gotten to know many employees, smile, how ya doing stuff, with the Butchers coming out to greet me, so if they suspect, no one lets on....doing three a weekend just in my town, if asked, I say I like to buy things fresh, so stop in to see what you've got. Actually just shop on weekends because sales start Wed thru Sunday. Become a rewards member and they send coupons on products you buy, a huge help....thanks for the nice words.

Got my grocery store shop done, evaluating packaging on Goldfish crackers for defects this afternoon.
Tomorrow's hardware shop was swapped for a (my) max bonus 5Guys.

Can bacon grease be used in an air fryer instead of oil or is it too heavy?

Doing a demo tomorrow for Ancient Nutrition, then a convenience store.

In my opinion, bacon grease can be used for just about anything...LOL! Air fryer owners, please chime in (but not without adding what shops you did/are doing) hahahaha.
I found 2 packages out of about 30 packages of Goldfish crackers that had defects. I did not find any foreign objects within (one thing I was looking for according to guidelines).
@HonnyBrown I don't use any oil in my air fryer with the minor exceptions of sometimes I use spray coconut or olive oil if I'm doing something that might dry out and not have it's own fat or moisture, like the top of a stromboli or a piece of chicken/fish that I need to put seasoning on.

I have no shops today because I picked up 3 extra shifts at my part time job and just can't stand for that many hours. I do, however have 3 more shops scheduled for the casino (non gaming) and a Soup Man shop for an early dinner tomorrow.

Thanks Jenny. I guess I was referring to using bacon grease to fry food in an air fryer. Mind you, I haven't taken mine out of the box yet.

Slowing starting back after my back surgery, forgot to post a few, but last night was Buffalo Wild Wings. In the last week I have also done a couple of Subways, a BJs curbside, and one grocery store. Good to be back at it.

Orlando - lightly shopping NC
I cook bacon in the oven and it comes out great. At first I was hesitant to try because I thought it would splatter grease all over the oven but no splatter. I went by these directions: [www.thekitchn.com]

You're not suppose to use grease or oil in an air fryer, hence the name air fryer..lol A little spray on the tops of food and the basket is OK.

Thanks to bgriff on the ice cream brand tip. I was pleased to see that my local Wegman's carries Jeni's.

I'm glad BWW are shopped again. Haven't seen them yet in my area so I will have to go hunting.

No shops today as I am doing homework. Only 4 classes left after this one. Yay!

Those defective goldfish crackers end up at the 99 cent only store. They all have stickers on the package saying they might have minor defects.
like @kimmiemae said, you don't need any oil unless you have one of the older styles that uses a bit of oil in the basin. Chances are, you have a regular one and don't need any oil at all, unless it's in the recipe as a marinade, topping, etc. That's the best part about it!

Yeah, it's actually the packaging that was possibly defective (and a few were). And I had to purchase the packages and take them home for evaluation to see if here were any foreign objects inside the packages (none so far). But good to know!
