Five Guys "Late Dinner"
The 5 Guys in my area closes at 10pm. So it has to be after 9:30pm. (the dinner hours are 4:15-9:15)

I was under the impression that was just something that was included on all guidelines for these type of shops so that you had enough time to make all of your observations. For instance, I recently did a lunch shop at the same Five Guys for the same MSC and it had the same note about starting prior to 15-30 minutes before close, but then my assignment details clearly listed the shop must be performed between 2 times. (I think it was 11am-2pm)
No, that's incorrect....
The time frame is very specific for late dinner (start 15-30 minutes before closing), so it's definitely nothing hidden or mysterious about the shop.

Ok makes sense I guess. I just compared it to my prior shop and it seemed like it was missing a whole section about the time specifics and I didn't want to screw it up. Thanks!
Check the closing time specific to your location, as they don't all close at 10.
The time and type of shop is listed on your CPI.
If they pay me enough, I will. I have never done the late night one before, but if it paid $30 or more and was a location near home, who cares about the food? Eat a few bites for evaluation purposes and throw the rest away.

Well... Lots of people. Sometimes when I get out of the bars around 2:00 AM, I'm sorely craving junk food like burgers or a nice large gyro from a street cart. Maybe it's a Millennial thing....

Why waste all that food? Just freeze it when you get home for leftovers and blend with other ingredients for maybe a breakfast scramble in the morning

Noooooo it's not a millenial thing to eat late. I used to eat late when leaving the bars at 4 a.m. when I was in my 20s living in Florida. I still eat late when in New Orleans. But even if you are a millenial, you too will outgrow this thing of eating late and craving food, LOL (maybe?).
Five Guys is not worthy of freezing. It's pretty good but not great. I never do one at base pay, I always need a bonus to do one of those shops. And forget the fries. I have tried to take them home for reheat in the toaster oven, just not that great.

They are looking for observations on whether or not the restaurant is still providing quality service, good food,a welcoming environment, and offering a full menu even right before closing. The report for five guys is relatively long and involved with quite a bit of narrative for a QSR shop. I was able to negotiate a $70 and $60 bonus for two locations in my region last month for these specific right-before-close shops.
