$5 reimbursement only shop

Anybody who starts the car to head to a jobsite deserves more than $5 for a shop. After all, the IRS allows you to deduct $0.54 per mile...... Do the Math and only accept shops that make sense. I have NEVER done one for $5 alone and NEVER will. If you got audited, how would you answer the question of why you took a job that was 10 miles round trip from home and LOST $'s? Think about it.

I saw one that was even worse than this one. It was a $5.00 shopper fee with a requirement to purchase a cup of coffee with no reimbursement! I emailed the scheduler and asked if it was a misprint. I go to that location regularly and know that a cup of coffee is just over $2.00. She never replied.
I wanted to apply for a cosmetics shop in Beverly Hills that I used to do for 25.00 would get two each in dept. stores next door to each other and for me that worked (notice I said worked). I now see it for 16.00 and apply to see it now requires doing 2 evaluations for 16.00 = 8.00 per shop.....very well hidden...pissed to the core.

No . Now I'm sure that most shopper companies are honest, but ....I think these companies make upward from $40. I know of one who won't pay the shopper for some small error (yes the shopper was wrong), but the company will fix the error, and submit it. They get paid, we don't. Makes me wonder about these 2, 3, 4, and 5 dollar shops.
I would show the total amount I was earning on that route. I live too far from any shops to start up my car for one job.

When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.

I've been doing this since about 2001, and I have found the fees to have been mostly fairly steady (which means that with inflation, the fees have really gone done). A few of the fees have dropped. This seems to happen when the msc gets bought by another company. The fees sometimes go down or the job completely disappears. I have seen some fees go up, but as I said, for the most part the fees have not changed.

I don't set foot outside my door for less than $10, and that is for a simple and convenient shop with no purchase. If you accept less than a reasonable minimum for whatever reason, it will only encourage msc's to continue lowering their fees.
