PO Box Baby Mail Project

Has anyone else been assigned more than one PO Box? I was given two assignments; however, the instructions did not include which zip codes I had been assigned. I emailed the MSC and received a response advising me of the zip codes.

I have opened both boxes, created the emails and notified them as instructed. Moving on to the survey portion, there are two separate ones, naturally. Neither survey indicate which box/zip code goes with that survey. I emailed again for clarification, but have not heard back. Now the assignment is past due because t hey haven't responded, and I don't know which location is which, or if it matters.

Has anyone else found a reference in the survey that I'm missing?

You are supposed to check all your boxes and fill out the surveys. The surveys are universal. You are to input the box number and week number in each survey.

I have done many of these. Easy money.
Thanks, gotshops. So, even though there is a different assignment number on each survey, it doesn't matter which po box goes with each assignment number?

I love these and managed to get 3. After the set-up it's easy money. Just checked all 3 boxes this week and nothing there regarding the baby companies. I did a couple of these a few years ago and I sure hated when they finished the project.
I have to close two boxes this month. I sure hope I get more. Shipping cost for 2 boxes this month was $25 - the cheapest way. All the samples didn't quite fit into a flat-rate box and I tried and tried. I'm a little nervous about reimbursement, but I trust the company.

I had one of these ages ago, and I was terrible about getting my reports in on time, but they were great about it (and still assign me stuff). They even reimbursed me when I accidentally sent something express mail instead of regular. Love them.
If there is a refund from the post office for unused months, the MSC does not ask for it back

Oh, no! Why did you have to close those boxes? Did the MSC tell you to?

There should be no problem getting reimbursed for your shipping cost since it was the cheapest way. The MSC has reimbursed me for even higher shipping before. You should be OK as long as you uploaded your shipping receipt to the invoice.
i think the baby projects are set up for different time frames, so it could be he had a 6 mo. time frame. I love Mintel and especially the baby projects.
I love this project, too, and am keeping my fingers crossed I get to keep my boxes for a while longer. Easy money.
When I was notified to close my boxes, they said they'd contact me if there were other locations in my area. I haven't heard anything and I notice the job (the one for non-pregnant/parents) is no longer on the board.

I'm confused. I was assigned two boxes with instructions to open corresponding email accounts, which I did. I entered all the information on the website. My instructional email said that once I did those things, I would be sent surveys. This post makes it sound like the surveys are accessible... somewhere?

Enlighten me, please!

I just started these myself so I have no idea. I have a lot of the same questions and I haven't heard from them either. I was assigned two and like you I couldn't find which zip codes I'd been assigned. Since I had submitted a bunch of zip codes I was willing to do, this was a problem. I did send an email and found out which ones I'd been assigned. My second problem came when I went to get the PO boxes. For the first one I did, I didn't know how picky they were about ID. I had set up a personal PO box several years ago and it wasn't a big deal. This time I had no problem with a photo ID but coming up with a second ID that met their address verification requirements was something else. My car insurance card doesn't have my address on it and I couldn't find my car registration card. Finally the clerk allowed me to bring my car insurance information up on my phone and she verified my home address from that.
When I went to do the second PO box, I had a new problem. It turned out that it's located in a gated community complete with a guard. After confirming with the guard that the post office was on the other side of the gate, I told him I was going there to get a PO box. He informed me that that post office didn't have any PO boxes!!!! Frustrating. I sent a message to the person in charge about it, but I still haven't heard back.

I got my instructions this afternoon. They didn't say anything about the second PO box so I guess they're not going to give me a different one yet. Maybe later.

I was just awarded this project this week. I was given three P.O. Boxes to set up and the email I received was very clear. Also there are three assignments on my home page for the set up of the three boxes.

Perhaps they have enough people in your zip codes? I don't know but I'd be patient. You may get one some day.

Thanks Sassymmmm. They sent me a follow up questions asking how many P.O. Boxes I wanted from 1-5. I thought sheesh as many as you will give me! and picked 5. I wonder if I should have picked less? Oh well.
Why do you get PO Boxes for junk mail?

That's the requirement. Once a month we have to go pick up our junk mail and send it to Mintel. Seems pretty easy for $20 plus expenses per month.

We aren't picking up any old junk mail. The mail is related to the baby websites where we sign up as mothers expecting or have young children. I had 3 websites I had to sign up with and if either of these companies mails any material to me (including formula samples) I have to forward it to Mintel. Once the initial work is done of renting a mailbox, signing up for the websites then the easy money is having to go by the Post Office once a month and checking if you have any mail from those companies.
BTW, you should check the post office for the zip code you are sending to Mintel to get an assignment to make sure they have mail box rentals. Some P.O.'s do not have mailboxes. And some P.O.'s are large enough that they have several zip codes assigned to them. So I may provide a zip code but when I rent the box it might have a different zip code.
I received my notice to go check the box, so I did so yesterday. There was only junk mail. I checked again today and it was empty.

Do I still get paid for checking it even though it was junk mail/empty?

I was paranoid enough I got geo locations during both stops, lol. Should I include those in the comments?

In the question, "How many pieces did you receive?" -- does that mean only baby pieces or all pieces, including junk?

Thank you for your help! smiling smiley

By junk mail do you mean other than baby stuff junk mail? I'm only just starting this project my self so I don't know for sure, but I think you're supposed to send everything. Hopefully either someone on here who's been doing it longer can tell you. Or you can always send a message to the guy in charge.

You only send the baby related mail. Any other mail is discarded. You only go to the mailbox once and then do a report. If you did not get any baby mail, then you received "0" pieces.
Didn't you open the report and read it?
And, yes, you still get paid the shopper fee as long as you check the box every month when told to do so, even if you have nothing to send.

Sorry you thought I was being snarky because, believe me, I was not. I was asking if you opened the report to input your data. If you had done that before you asked the question you might have looked at it differently.
