My shop pay for one shop: -$353.00

I've done this before with my teenage daughter. I was shopping at Ugg with a $50 reimbursement. My plan was to buy some nice socks. That changed when my daughter tried on some wool lined boots that she claimed were the most comfortable shoes ever! Yup, I spent over $150 for those boots.

Wow. We live in different worlds, lol! grinning smiley I took the hubby to the grocery store and said that two eyes and two ears were better than one when doing the little tasks there. Almost immediately, his two little eyes found the new and improved cookies. He held them up and proclaimed that we must have them for dessert. The cookies put us a whopping two bucks and change over the reimbursement amount. But the hubby had fun. He was so proud of himself! Such a deal,

@OP: By now, you know that we know that you are the bestest estest estest husband of all time and will give that lovely scent to your wife. Hint, hint. smiling smiley

I ended up getting the @#$%& also and gave them to a friend for a present. She uses them for "garden boots" - UGG- should have gotten her crocks.
I did several shops at a high end furniture and housewares shop in 2008. First shop, I wrote my Furniture portion of the report on a beautiful and pricey King Convertible Lounge/sleeper. Second shop there three months later, that same piece caught my eye and I saved the tear sheet and fabric choice samples. When I got assigned the shop again 4 months later, I was hooked, and that sales person knew it. I was opening and closing that sleeper, stretching out on it, being upsold with (easily moveable) leather cube coffee tables to set in front of it, and very helpfully told if I opened a credit card I could save a bundle on it and any purchases on the day I opened it. Filed my glowing report, and three weeks later went back and purchased it and the leather cubes, plus a throw rug to layer over my w to w carpeting in my den/guest room. Those darn shops cost me about $4500, and shop purchase reimbursement at $10 a pop doesn't begin to cover it. Still, nearly 9 years later, it's still a favorite place to sit and watch TV or stretch out and nap, and it still looks great!
I did a shop that sold cowboy boots and casual boots a few years back to check on the sales staff and check on how clean the store was. I was not required to buy anything, but I bought a $100.00 pair of pink and brown boots. I went to the mall a few months later and saw a cubby young man wearing the same style pink and brown boots. It seems strange that a male would wear pink and brown boots. I have worn the boots once in two years.
Same thing happened to me at Papa Johns. Pictures are never ever good enough!

I did a bank shop that required me to open some sort of account with them. It paid, IIRC, $25, which is pretty good, right? When I sat down with the bank rep, however, I found out that the cheapest account I could open that day required I put down $3,000! When I left the bank without opening an account, the MSC refused to pay me, even though I went through all the other motions of the shop. I was astonished and furious, and will never work for that MSC again. Can you blame me?
That's how I felt after I did a few luxury watch shops (Omega, Breitling, Rolex, Cartier.... sighhhhh). Now my goal is save up enough MS money to get myself of those watches albeit probably used.
I went to a men's shop where I had to buy a $299 dollar shirt which I was allowed to keep after all was said and done. The scheduler and the company stopped communicating with me, and I'd never spend that on a shirt so I returned it. The return was the easiest thing ever, but I was prepared to fight it with the credit card company if it came to that. They had the gall to call me and ask me why I returned it.

My experience isn’t high end, but I shopped a darling little gardening center and ended up leaving with 5 beautiful fruit/veggie plants in my back seat! Spent more than the shop fee & reimbursement combined, but oh well smiling smiley

Not sure if this is the same gardening place I used to do. I say "used to" in the hopes that I do not get drawn into doing one again. The shop was a pain and even tho they reimbursed $15 I generally bought more than that in overpriced items. They looked nice in their garden but the plants i purchased all died shortly after taking them home. The store did not have a return policy for live plants. The non plant items were fine but twice as expensive as elsewhere. I finally figured out I could get the same items elsewhere without the shop report for a fraction of the cost and from a place that guarantees the quality of their potted plants.

Kimijeano, I thought your post was funny. I, as a woman not interested in high end stuff, would probably enjoy a pizza more than a $300+ bottle of perfume and not mind as much if someone in the family had to fork over our money for it. However my choice would never be one from PJ.
Of course this is what they want to happen. Just think about this, you as the shopper is who will buy the item. That is how any company will make a profit.
My largest negative shopper was earning $600 for four solar panel company comps and buying $43,000 worth of them.

You fell for that? You must mutilate the pie and regardless of the quality it is never acceptable. I do not take pictures EVER unless the.client agrees ahead of time that ANY image would be acceptable. You should send the picture first and ask if the quality is acceptable if not, you are still out the price of the pie but you did not give them your work product.

I want a Cartier Tank watch. I'm sooo buying one. Omega is more reasonably priced for me but I deserve a Cartier.
I completed 3 Audi shops in 3 days. I fell in love with the car and I wanted one so bad. My husband had to chain me to the house to keep me from spending $49,000 on a new car. (I had just bought a new Acura 2 months earlier.) LOL!
I tried on an $1100 blouse. It was the most amazing piece of clothing I've ever experienced. I regained control and opted for a $180 sweater that I return within the 30 day limit. Whew!
Trust me, you will reap great rewards on this one eventually. We got solar panels and have saved a tremendous amount of money ever since. It’s the best home improvement we ever did.

Creed fragrances are DELICIOUS. They're so well made, and they make such a positive impression on everyone around you.

I had a shop the other day where I really actually wanted the piece I picked out, it was optional return, but the saleslady would NOT let me buy it. She handed it to another associate who took it away, and then supposedly radio'ed her on her headset that it was "much more expensive" than the tag said, and did I still want it? She just stood there challenging me. Meanwhile, the sweater was nowhere to be found, tucked away by her co-worker. I was evaluating, so I couldn't make a big fuss but man, I think about that cute sweater all the time. On the store's website, it was even lower than the tag said, but the associate clearly wanted it for herself. The one that got away!!!!
I did a similar shop, with my husband where we had to purchase something from the store. The reimbursement was $200. Shirts at the luxury store started at around $6,000. My husband was "fortunate" enough to get a bottle of $200 cologne that he got to keep. I got nothing but work.

I also shopped a luxury watch store that put Rolex watches in their "mid price/quality" range. And if someone ever drops an expendable $35,000+ on me I am DEFINITELY going back and getting that BEAUTIFUL Audemars Piguet watch that I tried on.

Off topic but th last one I did, while I was filling out the survey I accidentally checked "yes" for the question "Did you request a specific time?" This question was at the beginning of the survey. I hit SAVE (not submit) to save my work as I usually do. I did not upload a single photo yet. Suddenly the survey was no longer available to edit. When I emailed support, they said it's because I checked off that I requested a time for pickup on the form. I would've caught this mistake on proofreading before submitting but they never gave me a chance. Saving is not the submitting! They didnt answer my follow up and I thought that was wholly unfair.
I've been questioned about my Papa Johns pictures before but never had them rejected. Reading about all the problems everyone has had I'm nervous about signing up for another one of those shops.
Post removed as it breached the Forum guideline which states, "Do not reveal the clients of mystery shopping companies". Additionally, it is usually an ICA violation to name both the MSC and client. - Mod
] You have the MSC and Client listed together which violates our agreement. Please edit your post.

Uh. Your quote does the same lol.

Marketforce did a survey about a year ago asking if any of our shops led us to become regular customers. In my case, it was yes, and I would imagine everyone has had a few that they would never have tried if it wasn't for MS. I'm sure they shared the results with their clients and prospects!
Although I hate to add to a hijacking of the OP, how does that work, @PHD? You would have to wait for an answer from the MSC before entering your shop, and usually pizza shops are at night, so it could make you late. Which clients say they accept ANY images?! I've never seen that; the photos must be clear, in focus, etc. I could see if they want a pic of a problem and you have to surreptitiously photograph a garbage can, so it's out of focus, but who can use a potato-quality photo?

I was contacted to possibly accept a high-end perfume shop where the reimbursement is $100.00. It is with one of the "international" companies. Has anyone done this shop and if so, is it worth it?
