Applebees

I did the dinner shop tonight. I ordered wings, a burger and a tea. The report was very straightforward with 3 narratives. The rest were yes/no buttons. The wings and tea were good as was the service. The burger was awful. Maybe I'm used to 5Guys? With the tip, I spent $0.57 out of pocket.

I also wasn't fast enough :-( I applied for two locations, maybe next time around!

The report seems just like the BJs Restaurant report. I'm getting the dessert instead of appetizer and two drinks, cause i can! What is Applebees famous for? Do they have a famous menu item or is it a little bit finer than Denny's, which I have come to loathe......gimme some blueberry and strawberry pancake syrup for heaven's sake, ya cheap bustards!
Ha! Just a step above Denny's!

Better than Dennys. More like Fridays or Chili's.
Not the burgers!

Dennys has good burgers? Who knew. Applebees are ok.
I had one of their burgers it wasn't bad actually it was pretty good. Although a few days earlier I had their pot roast and I'm sure that will be in my nightmares for at least the next 6 months. I asked the waiter if that is what it's supposed to look like and he said yes. So I asked him if he wanted a bite and he said no. Incredibly nasty!
That's how I felt about the burger.

I would do that again. *That was easy*, she says in her very best Staples voice. grinning smiley

What did you order?
I think last time I went I got a chicken pasta dish that was alright.
I have mine tomorrow, I'm thinking about the combo platter so I don't have to get an appetizer, a dessert a coke and a shake. Do they have shakes? I'll have to look at the menu again.

Both Applebee's and Fridays closed in our town over 5 years ago. Applebees doe not have a good reputation, commercial/packaged food, it doesn't take much to make a good shake. I place them a level above Denny's, but Denny's is the pits, I'm doing an AARP at Denny's this month, we'll see what we get, their coffee...ugh. I did one at Mimi's recently and they had great muffins, coffee tea and gifts, of which I use the tote for grocery shopping. I pretty much stick to Mercantile, Customer Impact, Red Robin (great burgers and shakes to die for with calories up the pazoo) and Lucille's BBQ for good eating....all decent shops. I did Sizzler recently and their food (thumbs down) except they have a great salad bar, that makes it worth while. Many times (for me) the report isn't worth a bad meal.

You would think that, with the price of a cup of coffee at what $2.50, they would have jumped on the 'decent coffee bandwagon' but nooooooooooooo they keep serving that watery sludge that probably cost them .02 cents.
Applebee's totally re-did their menu a year or so ago. The Double Crunch Wings are great, as are the baby back ribs. I give them credit for trying. One great thing about shopping, we get to try places, we might not normally go.
I absolutely considered the ribs! When ribs are good I love them! But when they're bad, I didn't want to take a chance because I was only assigned one of the shops. Someone else in my area is on it.
I remember from long ago, the steak at Applebee's was good, came with mashed potato's...or was that Fridays???? Whatever, there is usually one entree that works.

The burger was excellent!!! The fries I liked, usually toss fries. The shake was very, very good!
I had the best ever bowl of Chicken tortilla soup at Red Robin, I'm still smacking my lips, for a chain it's good,, nice when it works.

Good hint. Anything more would be an ICA violation.

That is just not true. I could say they are notorious for reimbursement only shops and most people would immediately know who I was talking about (that's not the right company though). Or I could say they were notorious for having easy shops with no narrative and most people would know who I was talking about (also not the right company). Or I could say they are notorious for not having email and rely on older people making phone calls and most people would know who I was talking about (also also not the right company).
I got the ribs and they were decent. I did ask for extra BBQ to help fulfill one of the shop requirements. I went like $1.50 over with tip. No big deal. The dessert, Blue Ribbon Brownie was really good.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
