Five Guys times

Does anyone know if the times given are to start the shop or if the shop has to be completed between those hours?
For example if I have a dinner shop until 9:15 does this mean as long as I arrive by then?

Are you talking about the shop with the 4:15 pm - 9:15 pm shop? If that is the case, you may start your job any time after 4:15 and before 9:15. However, make sure to call the location and inquire about their closing time since some stores close at 9:00 pm while others at 10:00 pm.

You cannot be at the location or in any way be working on this shop after 9:15 pm or it will be rejected. The shop times are to be started and completed between 4:15 and 9:15 pm. You cannot arrive at 9:00 because it takes 8 minutes or more just to make your entree and two to 10 minutes to place an order and then if you are dining in you have to stay at the location at least 15 minutes. This is a minimum of a 25 minute shop.
Spicy1, I think shop just has to be started before 9:15. Though that could be dangerous as their register times may not match the shopper's.
The guidelines for this shop are ambiguous in this area. The minimum time at the location, for Dine In, is 20 minutes.

The time gaps between each meal cycle do allow for starting and potentially finishing before the next meal period.

In general, most of us familiar with this shop do try to start it so we can finish within the window. I do not remember anyone complaining about a rejection for their end time being outside the window.

Personally, I would arrive no later than 15 minutes before the thru time which would end the shop past the end time but before the next cycle.

For phone or cyber orders, I try to order early enough to arrive at the location before the thru time. This is based on my experience with another MF client where both orders had to be placed within the window.

If it is the 4:15 - 9:15 pm it is what they call the dinner shop. After 9:15 pm is the late dinner period. I can't imagine, or at least I never have, not starting and completing the shop before 4:15 or after 9:15 pm. I mean, why anyone would assume that is ok is beyond me. If I can complete the shop after 9:15 pm why wouldn't I be able to start the shop before 4:15 pm, it's the same thing. But, maybe there is something I'm missing.
Usually the guidelines say if you just need to arrive between those times or if the entire shop needs to be completed before those times.
The FG guidelines don't really say. I've always gone well within the times but was running late last time so thought I'd ask.
Seems there's no consensus so I think I will stick to being done and gone by 915pm to be safe.
Exactly. And I've never seen a (this company) guideline that says you just need to arrive by the end time but I've not done all of their shops either.

Your assumption is fine. I just decided to not state my interpretation as fact.

If your shop ends at 9:15 pm and the store closes at 9:00 pm, common sense would dictate that you should start your shop at least at 8:30 pm to make sure that you will meet all the requirement. As far as going way past the required end time, the MSCs/clients that I work for do not care as long as I stay at least the required amount of time, which is usually 15 minutes. I have done shops where I stayed way past the end time to visit with my companion or because I have some extra time to burn in between shops and have never had any of those shops rejected.
So you are saying that you 'stayed way past the end time' but did you report that your shop time was past the 9:15 pm time? And it got approved?
Why should I need to tell them the time parameter since they are the one who set it? I simply inputted the actual starting time - e.g. 8:30 pm and the ending time - e.g. 9:30 pm - in my report.
I do not interpret the time parameter as the starting time and the ending time. To me, the time parameter simply dictates the earliest and the latest time I need to start my shop. I have had no problem with having shops accepted for which I started 5 minutes before the end of the time parameter (just to be safe), spent 15 minutes at the location as required and left the location thereafter.
I have had shops for the various time periods end past the time frame as well. For FGs and other clients for this MSC. Always approved. I often find myself "chilling" as well awaiting my next stop. one time for a different MSC I got a note about staying too long, but it was approved as well.

Well, I have one coming up and I'm going to go ahead and do that. Start within the time frame and end past the ending time frame and see what happens. I can't tell you how many times I've had to speed down the road, knocking people out of the way because I think I'm going to be late to the ones that pau at 3:45.
My understanding is the times listed are the start times. I've started many FG close to 5 minutes before the end of the times listed and always been approved. They don't care if you leave after the stated start times as long as you've started it before the times. The register times may be off a bit, so it's best not to push it as close as I have done.
