Five Guys

No, pretty sure that CAPURATO was saying that the shop was in his neighborhood. It is not unrealistic that they paid $45 if they needed the shop done and other shoppers weren't picking it up. Deadlines are deadlines. I have been with that MSC since way back when they had a different name (2003 or so) and I have gotten some really high bonuses over the years. Once I got $125 bonus for a shop at a check cashing place...I wasn't actually cashing a check, I bought a money order. That's probably the highest one and that was about 5-6 years ago, and it was only 12 miles from my house. They needed it done ASAP, I asked for it, I got it.

I used to do them for $50-70 maybe a couple times per month. I usually wait Monday to Tuesday when they get real desperate to get them done. Right now I submit offers of over $100 because of my busy schedule.

These shops only run thursday to sunday in my area and the fees/bonuses have really become skimpy.
They called me to schedule a lunch a few days ago that was a bit of a distance away, but somewhere that I could find other things to do in the area, and I agreed to do it for $14. Then they offered me another one that was about the same distance away, but in an area that I would not have anything else I could do in the area, and I told them I would do it for $17, and they acted like I was threatening to kill their dog.

Wish I lived in an area where they would give me $45 to do a shop, but there are probably too many shoppers around here.
There have been times where they called me and weren't willing to go over $9, then other times where they would go $24 (lately). If I don't take it at $24 there is undoubtedly someone in my area who will. There are definitely a lot of shoppers where I live and many who take the shops at $6. That's fine, I don't need to eat burgers on a regular basis.
I made an offer online for the location in Enid Oklahoma. I offered $125 for a lunch due today. And to my surprise and delight, it was accepted.
Congrats on receiving the $125 fee. You previously mentioned that this 5 Guys Enid location is 85 miles north of you. How long does it take you to make the 170 mile round trip and do you take the turnpike to get there? One can hardly go very far in OK without running into a turnpike LOL. I know this because I used to live in OK.

$24 seems to be the magic number for me here

$24 is the highest in my area for shops in less densely populated areas (not near main cities), $14 - $18 if within a main city area.

It is actually all state highways with multiple options from weatherford to enid. The state highways here in western oklahoma are empty and rarely patrolled, so i can set the cruise on 74 mph. I did a quick rent to own shop for 30 and a hardware store for 30 while i was there also.
I was getting calls to do one location about 2 to 3 times a month for $12 -14. They backed out of one shop last month and I haven't heard from the schedulers since I assume they found someone to do the jobs for less. I miss the pay but my DR will be happier with my BMI and next blood workup.

Any tips on getting them to increase their fee. I have been doing them for $40 when they call--not to bad, but they won't even budge on a few dollars more. Should I just start asking for ridiculous high amounts, keep waiting it out and hope I can get them to bump it up a bit? They won't seem to budge.
If they are getting paid $50 per shop and you got $40, how much more do you think they should pay?
That is awesome! I never see them over $8.

Unfortunately, this is the curse of payment amounts with this MSC. Once you have done a particular shop for a particular amount, it is extremely difficult to ever get more. The only time I have ever received more than my normal amount for a shop was when it was literally the last day or two of the month, and the location was an orphan that I usually route shopped. Even then, it's very difficult, and I still have not always received an increase. The only way that you might be able to get more is if you allow the shop to go and they can't find anyone to fill it right up to the last day of a hard deadline. Then, maybe, they will give you more. But this is hypothetical and not common in my experience.

The good thing, though, is that for the small handful of locations that I was able to increase my fee on, I was able to continue to keep that higher fee moving forward.

Their payment system is really quite simple. They reserve the first 15-20 days of the month to try to find cheaper shoppers by not allowing bonuses and then open up the last 10 to 15 days of the month to their normal bonused shoppers. They keep paying a shopper what they always pay, and never more until they can find a shopper to do it for less. The rare exception is if a shop is still sitting there with one or two days left until a hard deadline.

(Another exception is for shops that are done weekly and not monthly, but with the same basic system, just on a shorter timescale)

Because of this, I will not do shops at base fees unless they are easy and very close to home. Even if they are convenient at the time, i.e. "I just happened to be in the area," I pass them by because I may be able to get a bonus in the future. But once I've done it at a low fee, the chances of me getting a bonus in the future are slim to none.

This MSC has a shop for tonight late night on the board at $10.00. Tonight is the last night it can be done. This is only one dollar more then they regularly go for. I have made an offer of $25.00 yesterday and have not heard back. How long do I need to wait for this? I can't imagine anyone taking this late night shop at $10.00 at this point. What are they waiting for? SMH
I am not seeing any Five Guys shops for the rest of February --- did something change?

Did you reach your quota? Happened to me a few months ago.

I was not aware there was one. Is there? I've done two so far this year.
How many last year? I don't know what the corporate requirements are. Five Guys would set the parameters.
