Rude Rude Rude

Maybe I am sensitive
So I've done the post office shops for several years. I think I missed one, I'm not sure, we had several inches of snow., I had a wisdom tooth pulled unexpectedly and my car broke down. So I emailed the schedule Amy with something like "sorry, I might have missed a shop, I'm not sure, is it still available?" Here response is "Nope". "Nope" what" I didn't miss one, it not available? Or is this just a standard "Eff you, I don't have time for you" In my opinion, her answer was unprofessional.

I’m confused. Did you schedule the shop? If yes, wouldn’t you be able to see if you missed it on you shop log? If no, wouldn’t it be on the job board if it was still available?
Or perhaps the scheduler had to respond to a ton of emails and didn't have time to write too much?

Kim
From the wording of your post, my guess is that "Nope" meant the shop was not still available. It might possibly have also meant no future shops are available. Time will tell.

If you can still pull up the job board and request shops, that means the company hasn't dropped you. If you want to continue with the company, continue to request assignments. Maybe your scheduler will take another chance on you and the two of you can get past this bump.

A sincere apology email from you to her regarding missing the shop without contact would be in order and might smooth this out for you.

Good luck with this.

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
Unprofessional is running into a problem with getting a shop done and not being responsible enough to contact the MSC. Flaking is unprofessional. Not even being certain if you had a shop or not is unprofessional. Don't be so quick to cast stones at Amy.
I'm not sure I understand. If you'd missed a shop and it was taken off your job board, couldn't you still check your e-mails for the shop assignment confirmation?

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
If it's Shop Metrics, sometimes those confirmation emails come rather late and can get lost in the shuffle. But the OP could always email back for clarification. I personally record upcoming shops as I generally have to organize them along with shops from other MSCs on specific dates and in the order I want to complete them.

You can not expect the scheduler to know why you didn't do a shop. As far as she is concerned you flaked.
That is not rude on the schedulers part. NOPE not available. Check your log.
I think that a one word response is indeed rude. Could have made it a sentence for only a few seconds more. "Nope, you flaked on your last two shops and are no longer eligible for USPS shops," or "Nope, there is a shopper in your area with 100% reliability who is being given these shops."

"Nope" gives no information.

Rude depends on your perspective. Let's a girl I know emails me "sorry, I might have missed a date we scheduled, I'm not sure, are you still available?" Regardless of whether I was so unimportant that she didn't write the date in her datebook or if we didn't have a date, my email would say "Nope."
Wofl, if a girl doesn't even know whether she missed a date with you or not, she's not likely to email you asking if you're still available ;-).

In a business situation, a one-word answer is unprofessional. It's sort of like editors who tell you to proofread your work, but won't give you an example (but that's another thread.)

I find giving 48 hours notice to cancel a shop is considerate, and time for company to reschedule, not even knowing if you've not done a shop is flaking on your part. How can you blame the scheduler, or are you putting us on....seems like we've had a "rude' thread already.....your bad!!!!.

OP, am I reading this wrong? You flaked on a shopped, yet you are mad because the scheduler answered your question with a "Nope?" Would it have made that much of a difference if the scheduler had answered "No, it is not available?" Virtually the same thing.

Stop being so sensitive. That scheduler is hardly rude.

It's possible. There have been recent incidences of other posters using two or more names.
I don't understand why that post is a reportable offense? Is it because of content or because one shopper may be using two names? The post hardly seems to rise to the level of an offense warranting reporting....

With respect to the actual topic, I put all my shops on my calendar (electronic and old-fashioned wall calendar) as soon as they get assigned just so I don't forget them! With the postal shops, because you don't have to specify a day, I write on the Monday of the week of "Postal shop this week by X/X." Sometimes I forget to do that, but I keep all my assignment e-mails until I do the shop and it gets approved. It's a backup way for me to remember.

No offense but it is not the scheduler's duty to check to see if you have shops scheduled. Sure, life is full of unexpected emergencies but it is your responsibilities to follow up on your own shops. I had a situation when my internet connection went down, called for a tech since my internet connection is with AT&T, found out that the internet modem was no longer working, wait for new modem, still can't get connection, wait for tech. That was for a few days. I went to an internet cafe, emailed all of my schedulers to inform what was going on. schedulers were understanding since I had to use a laptop to do work instead of using trusty desktop. I make a list of the shops I applied for, write down on my date calendar when I have shops assigned.
Understandable you could not complete the reports because you didn't have transportation and had a wisdom tooth pulled out, but how hard would it have been to check the website? Also I am not understanding why you don't write down or otherwise record your shop schedule. If you worked a regular job, would you not write down your work schedule?

If someone is able to complete their visits, in this day and age it's not hard to get shops reported since nearly everyone has a computer they could "borrow", or they can go to the library. With post office shops, I submit using my smartphone on the Mobi Audit app (most MSCs that use Shop Metrics have this app available for shoppers). I know not everyone has a smartphone but if you do and aren't using this app to submit shops for the MSC who does phone shops and the post office shops, than you are causing yourself extra time and additional work.

Also, even if you are sick in bed or at home with no transporation, you can email and check websites using your smartphone (if you have one).
I have even sat in McDonalds with their slow as molasses internet and uploaded photos one at a time to get my reports in on time when my wifi was down. It took hours and I had already been on the road the entire day completing a gas station route. And the library was closed. If I had been like the OP I would have just waited a few days and then emailed and asked if my audits were still available.
What was completely removed? Your account? The shop? I am not sure what you mean.

Okay, you have completely lost me here. Time to go to work. I have two post office shops, six convenience stores, and a grocery store shop. See y'all later!
