Who else hates the non-self assign shops??

I applied for a shop in a city and picked up a couple others and schedulers assigned them to me right away. This making it easy to plan my route. One MSC waits until the last minute to assign a shop to me in the same city. Because they waited til last minute, I change my route to other city. Do these schedulers understand that we try to plan a day with shops all in the same areas? Why do they wait so long to respond?

apply and send an email to the scheduler saying I am able to do this shop but need to know by such and such or I will have to withdraw my application.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Yes, it's excruciating. Some will respond to your requests but many will not or will respond saying something that is not helpful to your need to know.
I apply and if I don't hear back by the time I need to finalize my plans, I just cancel my application. I don't do much route shopping, but if I know I'm going to be in an area where there are open shops, I do try to pick one or two up. But I've stopped waiting till the last minute to find out if I got a shop or not.

If you have a good relationship with a scheduler, it can't hurt to let him or her know you'll be finalizing your route on X day and if you haven't heard back you'll have to cancel. But I don't know if that will do anything to hurry the decision....

I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I;m "trying" to get a plane ticket and waiting for a pending to assign, yes it's a PITA...the longer I wait the higher the airfare.....why keep a job on the board, when someone wants it....I'll never understand, not like I'm asking for a bonus.

Yes!!!! I have one that blows my phone up begging for help most of the month, but when I’m actually able to help out I apply and it will take her several days to approve an application. It’ll be days after the day I’d planned to do the shop so then I look like the jerk for telling her I can’t do the shop after all. And I’ve noticed all of her emails com in the middle of The night.

I recently applied for a hotel w/travel budget and the due date was very close. The MSC reached out to me but took 5 days after we both agreed to actually confirm & assign the shop. By that time the airfare had shot up and I had to pull out of the shop. Frustrating!
Adore, why did you have to accommodate the scheduler when it was the scheduler who took so long to get back to you?

I ended up canceling her job cuz she waited so long.
I too find it frustrating when schedulers do not respond within a reasonable time (1-2 hours.) I suspect many schedulers have another job and that is why they take so long.

i work in the middle of the night/in the extremely early moning.. Sometimes, I apply for jobs and complete reports then, during quiet moments at the early a.m. job. Perhaps this scheduler is available then for whatever reason.

I just heard (3 weeks later) i didn't get the job, which leads me to think, when pending a long time it's probably not yours. Totally ruined my trip to Vegas and I had a free ticket. Starting over doesn't work as my reward ends soon. Thinking of taking a vacation, and not getting a hotel, but.....
