Post Office Shops

Are these still being done? I've been away from shopping for a while. They had really dropped off after the MSC switch. Haven't gotten a package from my zip code buddy in well over a year.

They are still around I did several in January and February... none this month though, atleast in my area. I believe they are quarterly so they should come back soon.

Same! I keep looking for them.
They're still up in my area, but they've become extremely stingy on the bonuses.

"Let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well then tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you - and why?” ~Walter Williams
I was told a few months back that they had no funds for bonuses on certain shops. In that case it was for a Hazmat shop. But I have seen occasional bonuses on the Reg Box shops here in the land of few to none bonuses. There are no shops around here that are in the boonies since the boonies are somewhere in the next state!
These shops are my absolute favorite! Only in the post office 5-10 minutes and no more than 5-10 minutes to check the boxes in the report.
It's the scheduler that decides the bonus. Some schedulers are more reasonable than others.

And a big High-5 to Angela, the best scheduler ever and the best for the box shops! May all your dreams come true!
I did a TON of these last year -- and regularly picked up 30, 50 and even a few $75 bonuses for them. This year, not so much -- it seems like they disappear off the board before the bonuses get more than $5... So either there is a shopper around who will do these for base rate, or they just aren't bonusing as heavily... Unfortunately I think it's the later.

They are doing less shops total this year than they did in past years. Some of my locations were shopped monthly for each type of shop and now they have one fewer type of shop (no more dim weight) and they are mostly not shopped monthly any more. So that leaves far fewer shops for the same (perhaps) group of shoppers. To me that means there will be far fewer leftover shops when all the shoppers take their fill at regular price. To me it is not strange that they do not offer as many bonuses.
Those of you who did the Chipotle shops when they cut back to less shops per month per location.....they no longer had to beg shoppers to finish the undone shops because the existing shoppers were picking them all up since there were fewer to go around.
I applied as soon as I saw them. I'm looking forward to getting started. smiling smiley

They aren't released in my region yet, though my scheduler told me that they would be around the end of March...so I will look again tomorrow.
Okay, they are released and I put in my requests and sent the scheduler an email. I usually get what I apply for, I applied for 14 locations and will intertwine them into mini-routes with other shops.

Did you get all 14?
Just curious, who do you send packages to? eBay buyers, family, food pantries, yourself, mailing buddy?
I send something fun to my MOM usually. smiling smiley I am probably going to wait until the last minute to do these if I get assigned them and then I will send Mother's day gifts. Ebay is a great idea as well.
Friends and family, mostly. I have a lot of family all over the US (I am the youngest of six and they all have offspring as well). I have a friend in Florida that I went to high school with who has kids, so I purchase things like Charm's Blow Pops, Little Debbie snacks, Pop Tarts, and granola bars from my convenience store shops that end up in her boxes..I do about 40-50 convenience stores each month so I always have a ton of that kind of thing on hand. I do demos for a nutritional company so I send samples to my friends, family, and to my husband's family that are into that kind of thing. That same nutritional company sometimes sends me stuff that the stores I demo in don't carry, so some of that ends up in care packages as well. I am a merchandiser as well so I pick up used boxes from the stores and turn them inside out, recycling cardboard and not having to make a special trip to the store to buy a box. I pick up packing tape on my hazmat shops when they won't send the package so I always have plenty of tape lying around.
For regular box shops, if they are located out of town, I mail them to myself so I can reuse them. If the PO is in my town, I have a couple of mailing buddies and we send back and forth. For Hazmat shops which have to be sent to zone 5 or higher, I have a zone 5 mailing buddy. Before I got my buddy, I sent things to food banks in zone 5.

When the timing and distance work out, I mail eBay purchases. Sometimes it's less costly to just mail it regular mail and pay though due to the distance of the purchaser's address. When I do them out of my own town, I mail to myself. On the rare occasion I do my local post office I mail to my sister who saves the box and returns it to me. When I do HazMats, I mail to my daughter-in-law who is zone 5 and she promptly tosses it unless I tell her it's a surprise for her. She loves getting packages and gets so PO'ed when the package contains Chase Bank brochures.

Do you usually get them? I was able to get all of the ones I wanted (11).
Waiting but they are being assigned away and im not getting any either, very disappointed
Sorry to hear that Kathy. I have one scheduler who assigns many of the ones I apply for and another scheduler who schedules a nearby area who has never assigned me a shop. I keep trying and maybe one day I'll break through.

any hints on who the MSC is? I'd love to check and see if there are any available in my area. (I know you can't mention by name ... but maybe just a clue?) Thanks!

Are you registered with any of the Shop Metrics companies????
I always suggest signing up for the "15 Most Discussed Companies" for a reason....

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
I wish, at least weekly, that Summit Scheduling scheduled for a few of the MSC that KSS does. One can dream. Sigh......
