Yes, I knew a shopper whom complained a pregnant woman did not move fast enough. If you try real hard you can find something. Especially if you like bashing people.

I have been impressed every time I'm at 5 guys as well. They are all very energetic and seem like they are having fun. I had a shift leader say just leave everything on the table and he'll clean it up.

I always feel bad for dinging them for fingerprints and smudges on the door. But of course how I feel doesn't matter - I just report what I see. But really they would have to Windex the doors every 5 minutes to keep them clear of smudges.

I find the fries inconsistent between locations. And sometimes they have slippery floors. Is it the peanut oil?

Yes, the fries are inconsistent at times. Some places don't shake them properly. This place is a fast food restaurant so there is a fair amount of grease to be expected.

They don't time anything and they are proud of it. They pre-fry their fries, you can see the three different fry stages. There's 3 before your fries are finally done. If the fry people suddenly get too busy the fries can be bad. When my fries are bad I always ask for new ones. I try to get the order online shops so I can give the food away these days, I'm tired of the same burger and I don't like their hot dogs. Now if I could hand them some garlic salt while they're frying my burger........

agreed about five guys, incredible customer service almost every time. even the most simple request they do a lot with. i'll ask for a bag to put peanuts in at the end of my visit, and the lady will literally show me every size paper bag asking me which one will be ok. or i'll ask for a side of mayo, and like a tiny bit will have overflowed the cup, so the guy will toss it out, and prepare a neater side of mayo. the worst thing i can say is i've seen some brown in my lettuce a few times.

I've been to about 15 of them and each one has a sign not to take the peanuts with you because of other people's allergies.

That peanut sign has always perplexed me. How is taking peanuts home going to affect someone who does not live in my house or ride in my car? There has got to be another reason they're not mentioning, like they cost them a lot of freakin money.

I'm sure that's why, because they cost money and the sign is a bs'er. I love peanuts and eat as many as I can while I'm there. I have to peel the peel layer off because it's like plastic to me and I'm spoiled that way. I don't take them with me because I'm on a shop and the sign is asking me not to. However, I've seen people walk in off of the street, ask for a bag and fill that baby up to the top. They're not half as good as planter's peanuts though.

The consistent quality of 5 Guys speaks to the corporate philosophy. They actually believe that if they treat their employees well, pay them a good wage, and provide with a path for advancement, the return will show up in better quality products, better customer service, and a better bottom line. Only a couple of timea in maybe over a hundred visits has the experience with food quality been less than excellent, and slightly more on slower service times. Cleanliness has never been an issue.

Still I wish they would expand their menu a bit. I would like to see eggs, guacamole, and green chili as topping options, and I wouldn't mind some chili on the menu either. The shakes are good, and I like those when the shop is available.

Well, yesterday was the first time I've had bad fries. I was so disappointed in them. They were limp, greasy, and tasted really undercooked. I only saw one batch of fries being "final cooked," and she didn't shake them 15 times. I wonder if that was part of the problem, but I've been to other places where they haven't and the fries have been great. That being said, my burger was fantastic. I've had to cut down to one of these a month, because I gain weight and my cholesterol shoots up if I do too many of them. Sadly....

I once commented to a staff member at a Five Guys that I loved their peanuts. The manager overheard and brought me out a bag to take home!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

They say that if something is wrong to let them know to see if they take the food back or ask for a receipt, etc. No bad fries for me! If they aren't perfect, they get them back and I get a new batch, usually with more fries than I got before! Yes, that food will make you fat, well, it makes me fat anyway. I haven't signed up with any besides the one I did a week ago. 5Guys and I need a break.

Last nights 5 guys story: The girl taking the order was very friendly. After she takes my order she says...Oh No I'm out here illegally. I don't have an apron on...Shhh...don't tell anyone. She was so nice, I felt bad to have to report that. But I did mention she had one on later.

You did the right thing mentioning she put it on later. We sometimes forget these workers are human beings and many are just trying to put food on their children’s plates.

I would have given her a pass, especially since she was the one that pointed it out and recognized that she had made a mistake. Though you still handled it right. They'll probably also give her a pass on the other end.

Everyone makes mistakes and she shouldn't be reprimanded since she acknowledged she forgot but then remembered.

Now, the person who doesn't handle food properly should be severely reprimanded.

The stores here have automatic doors. If there were fingerprints on them it would be from impatient little kids, I guess.

I’m sure they did. You did the right thing all the way around. I think many mystery shoppers forget the human factor and are often to eager to criticize. You can tell by some members of this forum just how mean, angry, unhappy and spiteful people can be. I feel extremely bad for the poor guy or gal they report on.

The last time I did one the cashier grabbed the cup by the rim with her fingers inside the cup as she handed it to me. That was gross.

That is gross and happened to me at a chick fil a several weeks ago. I had to ask for a new cup and explained to the young man(teenager) why.
