Has anyone done a 'Self-Assign Visa Shop'? Are they complicated?

I have read the guidelines for the self-assign Visa jobs and it looks like it would be difficult to obtain all the screenshots and other information required. Has anyone completed one of these jobs and lived to share the experience? I see many jobs just sitting on the MS company's job board. the fee has gone from $5 to $10 and still no takers.

I read the guidelines for these shops and the amount of photos that need to be taken is ridiculous! There is no way to get all of those without being outed as a shopper. The client didn't think this one through because its just asinine.
Oh, dear... I'm doing one of these today. Crossing my fingers.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
Let us know how it goes and how difficult it is to get those pictures.
I admit to being concerned about those photos before I took the shop, but I was planning, for at least one, on posing my kids in front of the entrance with their treats and surreptitiously getting those shots. We'll see if I can manage that.

There was another company that was testing the Google Pay app in supermarkets, with much of the same requirements, including a picture of the terminal. I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy S8 which has a nice camera and camera button on the home screen. I was able to switch to the camera after waving my phone over the terminal and take the picture in the same motion. I was on a high the first time I did it without getting caught. I don't think I could have done that with my old phone.
Did the shop this evening and getting most of the photos wasn't as bad as I expected. The place was busy, so the cashiers weren't paying attention to what I was doing except when I ordered. But, this place didn't accept contactless or "tap" payments, and while it has two registers, only one has a CC terminal. And wouldn't you know it? I got served at the register without the terminal. The cashier had to take my chip card to the other register to process the payment. In any event, this place doesn't have customers insert/swipe their own cards. The cashiers do it, so even though I walked to the other register to view the terminal, it wasn't where I could see any of the things I needed to see. I got a photo of the setup, but it wasn't very clear. I had to hurry because other customers were coming up to the counter and I lost my opening. If the place had the right process in place, I'd have had a helluva time getting photos.

I'm expecting problems with this shop when it gets into editing. Between this shop and the one I did last night, nothing went right!

OMG that sounds horrible. These type of shops are really a pass for me because too many things can go wrong.

I saw one of these for a new quick serve restaurant and thought I would give it a try. When I got there, the store’s posted address was different from the survey. I submitted the shop as a closed location and it was refused without pay. I went back and forth with them a little bit, but it’s not worth my time to bother. I won’t attempt one of these again.
Which company has Visa shops? Could you please let us know? Thanks.
Kouichi, Visa is the client and it's already been mentioned. Because of our ICA we cannot divulge the client of an MSC. However, this MSC is in the list of official mystery shopping companies, and the link is at the bottom of this page. You will need to start signing up with more companies and you'll find it.
i saw this shop with a good bonus. Almost took it, glad I didn't.

If they'd had the payment terminal at the register, I don't know how I'd have gotten a photo of that "discreetly." My son stood behind me taking some back-up photos of the register without payment terminal, but his didn't come out well. Since I paid with a physical, contactless card, it would have been tough to get pictures of the terminal and screens as I was paying.

The client needs to re-think the logistics of this shop! There's another one in my area at a different business, less than 5 minutes from me, and as much as I'd like to purchase something there, I'll pass....

Also, while the instructions say you can pay with a contactless card, there are questions on the survey that give options only for payment by phone app. These are required to be answered, but there are no choices pertaining to card payments. So how could I answer them correctly? The answer is, I couldn't.

It's also a company that uses the Shopmetrics platform. HTH
So I just did one of these today. Not too complicated but everything happens so fast, it’s hard to keep track of everything. I tried taking pictures of everything. I pulled into a spot right in front of the door do I could take a picture of the front from my car. I walked in a took a picture of the cashier area while I was “browsing”. I then snapped a quick pic when I was paying and pretended I was struggling with my Apple Pay. But I was so focused on the pictures that I couldn’t really keep track of the screens. This place didn’t have any logos anywhere. So maybe that made it a little easier? The app is terrible btw - wholly recommend doing the report on the website. I just submitted the report so I’ll update if i had problem with it.
I did one today but the system couldn't process my google pay payment so I had to use the alternate method. No logos anywhere and strangely the report didn't ask for any of the photos except the receipt.
I go to one of the listed stores every morning for my fountain drink and there are quite a few around here. I’m hesitant because I did similar ones last year where I had to take a picture of the screen several times while I was actually using my credit card. Somehow I managed on all but the last one I did and it was too blurry and was rejected. It just seems tricky.
I'm glad I asked you all about the Visa jobs. The responses have been insightful. I think I will pass on these jobs even though I visit many of the locations as a regular customer.
I don't have the right type of Visa card, After reading this thread I'm glad I don't

I uploaded all my pics at the end, where you can upload additional images after you upload the receipt. I wanted to make sure they saw the branding in the windows, that there was no payment terminal at my register, etc. I'm thinking my shop will be rejected, but we wanted ice cream anyway! And it was good.

It seems like we are being set up to fail! There are so many risk with this and it's not worth the $10 they are offering for it. I'm curious to see if anyone's report is accepted.

Mine got accepted, but I was holding my breath over it..... I think the photos I uploaded as proof of my responses probably helped.

My job, where the reader didn't work, was approved with only the receipt photo. Not the outcome I expected.
My report was also accepted. Like I said above there were no logos present anywhere. The picture of the reader was crooked and cut out the bottom. I had a lady blocking the cashier area like in the example of the non acceptable picture but I couldn’t do anything about it. I think they may just be desperate
Well, if the client wants to find out if the locations are compliant (supposed to be offering mobile pay or contactless card), I guess these reports are going to be valuable! LOL.

I did a bunch-- I thought they were super easy and I had everything from it worked without a hitch to they looked at me like I was crazy when I asked about apple pay. No issues with getting the shops approved when I didn't use apple pay--just explained in the narrative.

I prefer the old Visa shops where you were reimbursed $10 for checking out mom and pop stores to see if they were adding surcharges but those have gone by the wayside.
They have none of those in my neck of the woods. I see them listed for other states like NY, NC, and other states.
