I was not comfortable with this. I had to make an appointment and to agree to a price then say it was too expensive when they got here. I also needed to evaluate the truck. Many of the questions were looking for dishonesty. If the people need to be checked for integrity, I'm not comfortable inviting them in my home after agreeing to a price then saying it is too expensive. I'm certain anyone would be angry if someone did that and I don't necessarily want to do that in my home. It doesn't make sense to agree to a price then say no when they get here. Even if nothing happened when they were here, the people know where I live, and I just made them come here for nothing for no reason other than I felt like it.
I was also supposed to evaluate the truck. As I live in an apartment I would have to take the elevator and try to find where they parked and check out the truck. If I did that before, I would need to have them wait when they arrived. Of if I waited for them to leave, I'd have to sneak down and hope I could find them. Some of the things I was required to say/ask were pretty odd.
I've never had an assignment that felt unsafe before. It was only the second time I had to cancel an assignment after accepting it. I wish one could preview the questions before. The devil is often in the details. It makes a big difference if I need to go to a shop during rush hour, or if I have to have my car cleaned before, or if there are 12 essay questions after one is supposed to type a 15-minute conversation verbatim.
