Please don't PM me asking which MSC shops a particular client

Most pies in our area are awesome. We are very close to Amish country and I always pick up a pie whenever traveling through there. They carry Amish pies in our grocery stores as well. And, we have a pie place a few miles from my house, Gardner's pies, and if you don't get there before noon the pies are all sold out. I love the strawberry pies in the summer, mmmmm. But nobody makes a better pecan pie then my old Auntie who lives in Texas. I know she will make me her special pecan pie at Thanksgiving, she bakes a whole pie just for me smiling smiley She has pecan trees in her yard and when we were kids we used to climb the trees and shake the limbs so all the pecans would fall down and she could pick them up and make pies...sigh. Good times. Although my mama didn't like that we were climbing trees that were 50 feet high, LOL!

On topic, I agree with you 100% about the folks who persist in asking the "who shops whom?" question; there is no need for that nonsense.

@Sandy,,,have to disagree, I never shopped Five Guys, however the 1st. will be my 1st., hoping it's easy and I enjoy it. They de-activated me for inactivity, and I recently wrote them...they were mucho nice and reinstated me.
My 10th burger place up here, I now compare and have a 1st best, 2nd, 3rd...it's a game I'm playing. How does everybody rate Five Guys?

Irene, For me the value of this shop is peanuts. They have unlimited peanuts. The longer you need to wait for your order the more wonderful peanuts you can eat and when you are full you can take your burger home for a future meal..the pay is also peanuts.
My new signature line should be...I will work for peanuts and barrel pickles.
I loved the food at 5 Guys, but thought very, very overpriced -- $12 or so for a burger, fries, soda.

I actually prefer the 89 cent original McDonald's burgers.

I'm SOOOOO cheap!!!!
I have never paid for a Five Guys meal. I hate Mickey D's burgers but I love their parfaits. I haven't had one in the longest time. It's what I always used to get when I was doing the menu board pricing (back when they paid $11). I haven't paid for McDonald's food in over 30 years. I didn't do the shops for them back when they were shopped unless they were bonused $20 or more, and I never ate the whole burger, I took a bite for evaluation purposes and threw the rest away, ugh. I don't like their fries, either. You literally cannot pay me enough to eat that crap. I did not mind the chicken sandwiches too much, but the burger meat, nasty stuff.
Sandy, sorry to say I'm not allowed to eat nuts any longer (and I miss them), so no peanuts for me. Many burger places here charge 12/13$ for a decent burger, although BJ's is 10.00 on Wed. McD's has the best fries, and I like their soft serve ice cream, and their 1.00 coffee, no burgers there, the best FF burger for me is Carl's Jr, that ends up being about 8.00 for the combo. I do them for a 5.00 fee....won't get rich having a burger. I enjoy the Habit and their new client is really delicious.

I would have responded sooner but I didnt see this thread till tonight. I dont want to stir the pot any more than it already has been stirred lol. Yes I did PM the 6 year member...and while i am well aware of the rules of the forum, I am also well aware of the holier than thou attitude of more than one and the fact that no one really follows the rule in private. . Maybe 6 year member, you know who you are, should jog his/her memory about a conversation we had a while back about who shops whom. No offense intended to anyone. I get the same private messages as others. You arent the only oracles on this here forum.
So, it's ok for random people with whom I have had no conversation at all, even online, to send PMs asking about our best clients?

OK then. I think that I just ignored you last time entirely.

"the fact that no one really follows the rule in private." You can't make a blanket statement like "no one" unless you have had conversations with "everyone."

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

No, you are using it as an excuse to justify your actions. Don't disparage people you don't know.

By providing the names of companies you have worked with you are not violating any confidentiality agreements unless you also provided the names of the clients of those companies. However, usually when a MSC asks what other companies I mystery shop for, I write "Miscellaneous, names not provided due to confidentiality agreements." I shop for quite a few and I'm not going to spend my time listing them for some company. I've never not been approved to shop for the company after declining to list my other companies and I've never been contacted with more questions. I'm guessing in most cases this is just a "standard question" on MSC application forms and they pay no attention to the answer.
Not only do I not tell them who I shop for on the applications I also never give them a writing sample from a shop that I did in the past like they ask for. I explain in that area that it would go against the confidentiality of both the client AND the other company. It has never stopped me from getting jobs or getting "hired". I am pretty sure you could write "leave me alone" in that area and they would let you work for them.

Indianyooper, that's a flat-out lie. I have NEVER disclosed the names of any clients to you. Awhile back you asked me who shopped Olive Garden. I told you it was a well-known MSC but did not give you the name. Another time you asked me who shops hotels. You did not ask me about a specific hotel name, so I obliged in a friendly manner and gave you the name of some MSCs who shop hotels. NEVER have I named the clients. Since then, you have asked me who shopped Applebee's, and I ignored you. You sent another PM and asked me who shopped Longhorn, and again, I ignored you. Yesterday you again asked me who shopped Olive Garden, and again, I ignored you. After being ignored a couple of times I was hoping you would understand that I am not going to break forum rules in a PM or in a post (unless I accidentally link the MSC to a client in a thread).

Why don't you go back through the PMs and reread what I wrote before coming into the forum and posting such nonsense.

Hopefully, after your explanation and starting of this thread, Indianyooper does now understand that his PMs are not welcome. And, after reading the comments of all other forum members who posted, it should be pretty clear that "everybody" does not reveal who shops who privately or publicly. This thread indicates that the posters who have expressed their opinions do not want to get PMs from Indianyooper or anyone else who wants to ask who shops who.
Actually i am so tempted to post the conversations but then youd fall off the high horse. And i dont have time to. I'll just let that be. If you want to clutch your pearls and say " i would never violate the blah blah blah..." more power to ya. I respect the originality.

I have no issue with being told no or being called out. I do have an issue with the false pretext of integrity you(and others) hide behind.
I stand behind my statement about you and others, which is that you have ALL discussed who shops who in private. Maybe not with me but with others. This is the internet, everyone talks to everyone. Used to be 6 degrees with who(kevin bacon???) On the forum id give it 2 degrees tops.

Bullchit. Just because you are sour because people aren't catering to your requests doesn't mean you should make up lies. I would be happy to copy and paste every one of my email responses into a post, but why would I want to bore everyone else to tears in here just to prove I am right? I think that the forum knows better, but if anyone has doubts, PM me and I will forward you the PMs that indianyooper has sent me, along with my responses (when I bothered to reply).

Over the past 2 years, You have PMed me 14 times, and several times asked me about who shops Applebee's, Olive Garden, and Longhorn. I did not give you the name of the MSC. I have replied to your PMs a handful of times since July of 2016, and most of those times it was a polite conversation about MSCs that shopped hotels. NO clients were discussed, only MSCs. Here is the last time I replied to you when you asked me who shops Olive Garden. After that I ignored your email requests to tell you which MSCs shopped which clients. Why the hell I bothered telling you which MSCs shop hotels when it's obviously you are an ungrateful person who doesn't want to do the work themselves...well no idea why I was nice to you, but I can assure you that's done. Maybe I should just forward your PMs to the mods.

It's a company that is discussed fairly often and is in the forum list of companies. They are one of those companies who don't give new shoppers access to higher reimbursement shops. New shoppers won't even see them on the website. After you've worked for them on a regular basis and turned in 20-30 great reports your internal rating goes up and they will give you access to better shops.

To those who PM forum members they do not have a relationship with asking for names of MSC who shop particular establishments:
I am sure with all the thousands of members of this forum you might find people who will reveal the information of who shops who or even who shops whom but that does not mean that the more professional shoppers who have some integrity are among them. Sure you can find those people who don't see the point of withholding info or don't think they will jeopardize their own career by doing so or think it is friendly to give out this information or many other reasons. Some of those people will never be found out by the mystery shopping companies where they are breaking the agreements they made, some of those people will have a short lived career in mystery shopping and some will live happily forever after. Every type is here on this forum just as every type will be involved in voting next week whether we individually agree with them or not. But to be smug about breaking the rules and calling names of people who have decided not to break the agreements they have signed shows a lot about the integrity or lack thereof of the name caller. So please stop this foolish act. You are shooting yourself in the foot on this forum. You might get what you want but you also are not winning any friends. Perhaps you don't care. But you are certainly carrying on a lot about something you might next say you don't care about.
I personally have not been PM'd recently for any info and I am perfectly happy I have not been. I am going on the record to let you know not to bother. There are probably more than one of you.

After i read this thread I decided to look for the rules of the forum. There are a lot of sites with various rules and I have enough trouble remembering what day it is at times. I was only able to find one reference to rules. It said they were in "Posting Guidelines." Searching for that or rules gave me nothing. I was going to ask if you could tell us where the posting guidelines were. But now I see it's not a message but it shows up on the right when one clicks reply.

I've been trying to hide from political disagreements which have risen to a level of hostility and even hatred I've never seen before. I am not there yet, but when I reply in a disagreement, I ask "what can I say that may have the other person change their mind?" That really is the goal in most disagreements, but we forget and want to punish the other person for not thinking like we do. When I focus on how to change someone's mind, I sometimes actually do.

Thanks for the reminders and sharing your experiences.
When you start typing a post, a blue box appears to the right that says "Posting Guidelines"

We don't discuss politics here because we are from a wide range of backgrounds. Simply report political posts. "Thanksgiving rules" - politics, sex, and religion are generally beliefs that are deeply held and are not going to change based on a forum post. They divide. Just report them.

"Let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well then tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you - and why?” ~Walter Williams
You can report political posts all you want. That's not an official rule at all. Jacob allows it up until it gets ugly and there is name calling and it spirals into uncontrollable negativity. If someone starts slinging shite and not just mud, that's when the mods step in.
It all depends on who you are disagreeing with. If you happen to be very familiar with the person you are disagreeing with through years of reading and posting in the forum, you may know that the person is unreasonable, very strange, and possibly mentally imbalanced (not naming any names, LOL, but some of you may know who I am referring to). In that circumstance, there is nothing you are going to be able to say or do to change that person's mind.
