Very very upset regarding Jamba Juice

I did a couple Jamba Juice shops from the company known for having restaurant shops with no fees. Also, so many make your own pizza shops. Anyway, all the schedulers emails said " New ordering requirements". Previously, you had to order 3 items and take pics of them all. The amount of reimbursement was 15.00. These emails made it appear that you only had to get 1 item and you'd get the rest of the 15.00. I did two of the shops. I ordered a 5.00 smoothie. Can you imagine my disgust when I was reimbursed the 5 bucks ONLY. For all that work. At least 6 pics of the menu boards, store, drink, front door, etc and doing the work for 5 bucks??? I won't even leave the house for 5 bucks. I won't take a phone shop for 5 bucks.

I emailed them to no avail. They basically ignored me. So pissed and will NEVER do another one of these shops. I do a lot of shops for that MSC. More so probably than any other company. I have the schedulers emails and don't know who to reach out to, to show them how they worded them to make it seem like you'd get to keep the rest of the 15.00. Why even say the requirements have changed, when they really haven't. Sure, you DON"T have to order 3 things, but who would not spend the entire 15.00?

When it says $15 it usually means they reimburse up to $15. Reimbursement is for what you spent. It states Max Reimbursement $15 on the website.

Yes, I know. I've done enough shops for them that I know what it means. Thats NOT what the schedulers emails suggested. Would I have taken a shop for 5 bucks? Hell no.

Do you still have the e-mails, or did you delete them?

I have them. Who do I even contact? I sent the MSC a message regarding it and they gave me some BS answer.
If the e-mails have a person's name, I would contact that person.

What was the BS answer you got back?

Just curious.
What is there to be angry about? YOU agreed to a reimbursement only shop. Not sure what you want the MSC to do? Do you want them to pay out a fee when that wasn't in your original guidelines and assignment information, which was CLEARLY spelled out even before assigning yourself the shops?

If you wanted more reimbursement paid back to you, you should have ordered the additional options such as an oatmeal, pretzel and/or bowl....

This report is so easy if I'm next door I'll grab the shop just for the smoothie, although I always get a large and load it up so usually a lot more than $5. I did one next door to a hotel earlier this month and one that was next door to another shop I had the day after. 5 minute shop, 5 minute report. Add in the tax savings on making the money then paying for the smoothie it's a $60 an hour pay rate.

I definitely agree with NO if I were doing the work for a $5 item. Sorry you felt confused by the emails. But the event page showed $15 maximum reimbursement NOT flat fee. And the guidelines are available before self assigning. The guidelines were very clear: "The reimbursement is only for food and beverage purchases ONLY. " (Sic) I'm guessing their double ONLY is deliberate? Or a hint? They did say you could order additional items and they would be reimbursed up to a maximum reimbursement of $15. So ..... worth it if someone wants to order $15 worth of stuff ..... maybe .... but not for me.
I have not seen any shops fot this MSC that are anything but reimbursement for the food. For $10, let it be. You said you do a lot of shops for them. This was one shop. Do not do it again if you do not want to, but why start a fire for no reason and hurt your relatiinship with them?

They add fees for airport locations.

That is why I don't accept shops based only from the scheduler's emails. I always ask for the name of the project so I can read over the details about the shop. No offense, but you had the opportunity to read over the shop guidelines. If the shop guidelines did not meet your standards, then you should have declined the shop and emailed the scheduler.
As an aside to this discussion, I used to enjoy doing these shops for this company and another (Prophet) company. I would normally get a smoothie and two lunch type sandwiches. The total was always about $15. After sampling the sandwiches I could freeze them for future meals. Now Jamba Juice has discontinued their lunch sandwiches and now only have a breakfast sandwich which I didn’t like. I also don’t care for any of their other bakery items. So far now I’ve stopped scheduling these shops from both companies.
The OP's complaints are without merits. This MSC is rare in that its shop guidelines are available on its website BEFORE the shops are assigned. It is up to us shoppers to read the guidelines before we decide whether to apply for (or self assign) a shop.

The post makes it clear that the OP did not read the shop guidelines carefully (if at all). Reimbursement is not the same as pay.

This MSC also offers two different grocery shops owned by the same company. One shop offers a flat pay amount. The other offers a maximum reimbursement amount (like Jamba Juice) plus a fee. For the reimbursement shop, I sometimes do not try to purchase as much as possible to maximize my reimbursement. Sometimes, it is because I could not find anything more I wished to purchase without going over. Sometimes, I was doing the shop mainly for the fee or the bonus (yes, there are bonuses). Sometimes, it was more important to me to complete the shop correctly in the least amount of time allowed so that I could move on to the next shops on my route.

Have I ever gotten confused doing a reimbursement shop and thought it was a flat fee shop, bought less than I could have, and kicked myself after the fact when I realized I shorted myself? Sure. Did I blame the MSC or the schedulers? Nope.

Sorry, my post IS WITH MERIT. I was told one thing by the scheduler. I'm not a moron. I know exactly what her email said. She worded it like " changed requirements" instead of having to purchase 3 items, you now only need to purchase 1. Why would I only buy 1 and get reimbursed for 1 item, when I'd basically lose out on another 10 bucks. I believe that her email was meant to deceive. I would never take a shop for 5 bucks. Its not a 5 min report with this MSC. Its 6 pics and a more detailed report. I would never take a craft your own pizza shop for just the regular reimbursement and no fee either. Stop trying to insult me. Jeez.

I guess I trusted the scheduler. I learned my lesson.
I'm thinking of a steak shop that pays a flat fee. If you order the sirloin and it comes to $18 and the fee is $28, then you are paid $10, so to speak. If I do the donut shop and the flat fee is $10 and my donut and drink come to $3.50, then I am paid the remainder as my fee. I have not done Jamba Juice but $15 flat fee and required 3 items? Sounds like you will just basically be getting the food/drink on this one and not a fee, if I understand this correctly. smiling smiley

Never had this specific issue with this MSC. I have had assignments (bagel shops) that did pay a full $15 no matter what I spent. If in doubt, check with your scheduler. I have had the same one for at least two years now. We exchange texts. She is responsive and empathetic. I don't do Jamba because I don't like the product. I have no first-hand experience on how the assignment instructions are written.

The requirements WERE changed. Before, you were required to buy the three items the client wanted you to. You would be reimbursed up to a certain amount but you had no choice in what to order. Now, you just have to buy one of the items set forth in the guidelines and then you are free to buy almost ANY ADDITIONAL ITEM(S) you wanted and be reimbursed up to $15.

First, you misread/misunderstood the email. That was actually understandable and there was nothing moronic about it. However, you then either did not read the shop guidelines carefully or you did not understand them before doing your shop. Otherwise, why would you be surprised when you were only reimbursed for what you actually purchased? As more than one poster in this thread have pointed out, the guidelines clearly stated that reimbursement was for food and beverage PURCHASES ONLY.

It's bad enough not to take responsibility and learn from your mistake, but to attribute bad motives to someone else and try to shift the blame on them? Jeez.

Jamba Juice is a reimbursement shop, not a flat fee shop. The OP thought it was a flat fee shop and shopped it like it was a flat fee shop, i.e. not purchasing more than the one required item.
Here is the email I received.

Good Evening,

Jamba Juice offers Healthy Fresh Fruit Smoothies, Fresh Baked Goods, Energy Bowls and More.

Purchase Requirement is 1 item!!

15.00 reimbursement

Flexible Dates Just Ask!!

Dine Solo or Bring a Guest.
Children Welcome!!

Please, reply to this email if you would like to complete this shop
or log in and self assign.

I look forward to working with you!!
Based on the email, I don't see why you are upset. The email clearly says that the purchase requirement is one item and that the reimbursement is $15. It does not mention a fee. It does not say you get a flat $15 and get to keep anything you don't spend. It says the reimbursement is $15. You misunderstood. Get over it.

Sure. That's a reasonable interpretation of the email on its own. Huge cup. Boosts. Go crazy. smiling smiley

The guidelines make it clear the shopper may order additional items, though, and that the shopper will be reimbursed up to a certain amount for food and beverages ordered.
The clue is in the word 'reimbursement'. That can only mean you get back what you spent up but only up to the maximum allowable, which is 15 dollars. Just move on. We all screw up our brief interpretations at times.
I can understand your frustration but you should have clarified what it meant before doing the assignment. There was no deception, just your misinterpretation of the email where you assumed that you didnt need to buy three items, just one now, and the other ten dollars, assuming your one purchase was 5 dollars, would convert to a 10 dollar fee. Lesson: never trust an email, always go by the official guidelines. It's a lesson learned but a valuable one. Why? Client staff who are mystery shopped expect reports to be based on factual observations and correct memory recollections, not assumptions and guesswork. if you cant read a guidance note properly how can an MSC trust the accuracy of your reports too? It's not the scheduler who does the shops - you do. Luckily, for you, it's only a frustration you are dealing with, one of your own makingon this occasion, for a target it could be their job or an undeserved repremand. Jusy learn and do better. Every cloud has a silver lining.

Yes, this MSC is one of the cheapest. They require too many awkward pictures, too many order guidelines, long questionnaire, terrible excessively demanding editors, and pay the least. No fee for their shops. With Jamba Juice, I actually had an interchange with their scheduler. She tried to entice me by saying as you succumbed to their enticements. She wrote, "Now you only have to order 1 item." I replied, "Good. So do we get the $15 if we order only 1 item now?" She said no. I asked so I only get reimbursed for that 1 item? How is that a better deal? There is no fee, no bonus, no nothing, just reimbursement. She clammed up.

These schedulers think we are dummies. Always question what is not spelled out in their "offers".
