Gas Station Card Skimmers

I have a specific credit card that I use only for gas. I don’t do gas station shops but I have had my card information stolen from a gas station before. I also get 3% cash back on the gas purchases I make. I wouldn’t ever use a debit card at a gas station pump.

After talking to team 3, they did confirm that I can use either a prepaid debit card or a prepaid gift card to pay at the pump!!! Hopefully, that was the last time those scumbags of the earth steal from me (and who spends $300 at Royal Farms???? how much chicken could you possibly eat).
yankee did you get your money back?

American Express Serve is a reloadable pre-paid card. You could use this and only load what you need to on it. It could still get compromised, but you wouldn't have the entire contents of your checking account at risk.

I assume Royal Farms, just like Wawa and QuickChek, sells gift cards.
Last year I was using prepaid credit cards that I got from Staples rebates to pay for my gas purchases. When a few of them were skimmed at the stations the CC companies wanted notarized documentation to process the claims. The process would have cost more than what I lost and was not user-friendly like with a regular credit card. I never did get my money back for those cards.

For those who do gas station routes, call your credit card company and let them know that you will be using your card at different gas stations on certain days.

I did a four station route for two MSCs last month. Let my credit card company know that I would be making 2 purchases at 4 different yellow gas stations on Monday (which was a holiday). They noted my account. In one of the reports, the MSC wants to know if the same card had been used at multiple stations. I let them know that my credit card company was notified.
