A question on the taco shop

I noticed a taco shop that pays $10. This is not a fee, but a payment for the food. Are they paying you for just the taco or are they including the whole meal. I noticed the guidelines say you are to just order the taco. If the employees offers you a combo or drink you may take it. But are you paid for the whole meal?

It’s the whole meal I believe, but you have to like French fries with your taco!
OP’s question is whether you get fully reimbursed if you accept the suggested upsell.

If you give them a hint, you are leading the subject employee, so any upsell would not be their idea and would not show what the client wants to see. The clients wants to know if the subject employee offers an upsell on his own. IF the employee OFFERS a combo or a drink, you may order it and the taco combo or taco with drink are covered up to a maximum of $10. Anything over $10 is on you.
If the employee says, "Would you like anything else?" That leaves it open for me to order anything else. smiling smiley

No, the guidelines need to be followed. Someone may take your joke seriously. You order one Taco. If the employee upsells either the combo, or a drink, you can then add the combo or drink. The client expects us to perform the shop in their best interest, not our own.

Personally, I hope this also has a fee involved.

As far as I can tell there is no fee. They have improved the shop immensely since the beginning of the month when they first came out and when the only upsell you could accept was a drink. Now you can get a combo if suggested. It did not take long for them to make that change so perhaps they will improve it again if the jobs continue to sit there.

you are reading something into it that isn't there....that is NOT upselling., they have to offer something specific like a combo.

The problem I see, if they do not offer you anything, you're doing the whole shop for the price of one taco, $2.58.

"Now you can get a combo if suggested. " That's the problem. I've done many fast food shops where there was no upsell, but I still got paid the full amount. With this shop, if they don't upsell, you only get $2.58 for the shop....the price of 1 taco.

Well John you will not see me taking it any time soon. There may be some taking it out of curiosity but I doubt many will chance all those pics and a report for the possibility of a $2.50 taco. Even the closed shop fees are higher than that! I guess for this shop one would be lucky to find their location out of business. They would get paid more!!!

Why start now?
If you follow the guidelines, you risk getting paid $2.58 for one taco. Driving there, taking the pictures, checking inside, inspecting the restroom, and filling out the report for $2.58, if they don't upsell.

I just cancelled the two shops I had and told them why. If you follow the guidelines and the employee does not upsell, you get paid $2.58 for the one taco, after doing all that work.
You are correct. People have been complaining about this. If you don't follow the guidelines, you risk not getting paid anything and being dumped by the MSC.

As I reported on another thread, they have added a $5 fee. That’s too low for me even if I could et the meal reimbursed. This MSC has a history of increasing the fee when shops linger on the board so maybe it will eventually go up. I also dislike shops that penalize the shopper by restricting the reimbursement when the cashier doesn’t do their job properly. It can also skew the results.
Most shops like this, ask you to give the employee time to offer the up sell. That is what you report on, if they offer the up sell. If they don't you can order a combo.
I talked to the scheduler about this shop. Unless you're offered the combo, you cannot order it. So if the employee does not offer you the combo, you're paid for one taco, ($2.58) I will not touch this shop.
Yeah, I am unsure why people are taking these shops without a solid fee. From last year's cycle, they got to $20 (and a few higher) at the end of the month. Obviously, the MSC doesn't want that, but...
The two dollars is for reimbursement, the four dollars is (supposed) to be the fee. I hope newcomers will not take these jobs, it is an insult and I'll love to know the companies offering this pittance.

You're better off getting a discount coupon for this shop. Many companies have a buy one get one free for tacos and burgers.

I just did one and got the full $10 and bought the one taco.

I guess we’ll see. Out of all of the shoppers here, you’re the only one that’s getting a flat $10.
