Not my cup of tea but my FIL would think he'd died and gone to heaven. He eats peanut butter and bacon sandwiches frequently.
I usually get peanut butter and Oreo creme. Now I want bacon dangit!
I'll take extra bacon on my burger instead, LOL.
I have gotten bacon on my burger...yum, and a vanilla shake, and I said WOW, together, not sure about bacon milkshake, but glad you enjoyed it, now, hit the gym.

JAS, I used to work for a Hormel Company in Los Angeles (Farmer John). Our food chemist would come up with these creations every Tuesday, and invite a select few to try them. The peanut butter and bacon sandwiches were based on a new maple bacon.
The sandwich was honey roasted, chunky peanut butter, maple bacon, and whole wheat bread.
This was 15 years ago, and I remember the taste in my mouth. It was that good! Learn from your FIL!

My husband's grandma was always after me to try turkey bacon because it was healthier than the regular bacon. I said no repeatedly and then tried it, and quickly regretted it. I hadn't been to the doctor in a couple of decades for anything major and decided to get a benchmark recently, went in for a physical. My cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, etc. are all just fine, go figure. Doesn't matter that I drink a lot of wine and eat chocolate and bacon (though not together) on a regular basis, LOL. It isn't going to kill me, apparently. Oh actually the wine and chocolate is an excellent pairing, though I haven't plopped cubes of chocolate in my wine glass or anything. Not going to put the bacon in the wine, either.
Sweet/savory is not my thing. Been there and tried that. I like what I like. Not knocking anyone else's tastes, they just aren't mine.

I have a few sips of the shake during the shop, then take the rest home and put it in the freezer (no whip cream). Then, when I need a treat, I take a spoon and scoop out a spoonful or two of heaven. It's like chocolate peanut butter ice cream. The shakes usually last about 3 days and no longer.

Seems their thinking of new ways to get fat into your heart, maybe a conspiracy with Dr.s...no for me, bacon in a shake sounds downright nasty...and will (trust me) catch up with you in the long tun. Chocolate especially dark is the way to go, mixing with peanut butter would be my choice.

I had chocolate covered bacon at a fair once. It was surprisingly good! Bacon makes everything better.

I was under the impression that chocolate cured all evils. Do you mean to tell me some people think chocolate is bad for you? Doesn't it cancel out all the other bad things you eat with it?
How do you have the will power to throw a delicious shake in the trash for no reason whatsoever other than just to avoid the calories??? My mom instilled in me "clean plate syndrome". It has taken me years to leave food on my plate and put it in the microwave or throw away.
Salt and chocolate are a classic combination, ergo a bacon milk shake. I admit to never having tried it!
I haven't seen one of the milkshake shops, even though our 5Guys got a machine almost a year ago.
Last weekend we had a bacon festival (there's at least one festival going on every weekend down here from Memorial to Labor Day. There was bacon everything, but I had some restraint. My favorite food truck, the Cow & the Curd was there and those cheese curds, along with a a local IPA, were all I needed to bypass all of the other delicious looking bacon treats. My boyfriend, on the other hand, had one of just about everything.

I was skimming along too quickly and read that as the Cow and the Turd, LOL!!!!!
I think the IPA and cheese are a nice pairing. I can't remember ever eating a curd, though. I think Little Miss Muffett ate curds and whey, right? I think in Wisconsin they do fried cheese curds...
Irene, I think a lot of it must be genetics, because I eat bacon pretty regularly and I eat a lot of cheese and butter (though rarely do I eat red meat or fried food), so apparently there must either be something else I am doing that is preventing my arteries from getting clogged or I just inherited my Dad's superior cardiovascular system. I do eat a lot of veggies and salads, so maybe it's just a good balance of diet.

Ha! Now that would be an intersting food truck. It's a really cool story, they started with one truck and now have trucks all over the place and the people are the sweetest. I fell in love with cheese curds when visiting my brother's girlfriend (now wife) and I had them straight..lol..right out of the package and she used to bring me bags of them when she came to visit. I tried them fried at Yogi Bears campground and they've been my favorite guilty snack ever since! Also, almost everything pairs nicely with an IPA, an Imperial even better.

In some restaurants for busy breakfast days pans if bacon and sausage were left under the heatlamp for servers to add it to the orders that called for it. I snacked hard in those days! One perk of waitressing - free bacon. BACON-WRAPPED BACON! YESSSSSS!
When I go visit my brother in Houston I buy lots of bacon because his wife won't cook it for him due to the way that most pigs are raised. I try to get the "humanely raised" pork to mollify her, but my brother is always asking when I am going to come visit, LOL. Is it because I am his favorite sister? Am I his favorite sister because I always bring home the bacon?!!!!
Guess my Kosher upbringing didn't introduce me to bacon young enough, as we Jewish folks keeping kosher (health reasons) and not allowed to eat pig, cannot have it the house. I never have it my house, however, going out for breakfast now and then, I will indulge, bacon and eggs...delicious, that's as far as i go...whoops not true, bacon and tomato sandwich's are a win win. Not a lover of turkey bacon, so dark chocolate is my go too.

I find that most restaurants (except the extreme upscale ones) give too much food. They even bring it to the table in platters! When I was a kid, those same size platters were used to hold food that an entire family would take individual servings from.
I can usually get at least two full meals from one 5 Guys burger and little fries. Even little fries (because they put extra in the bag) I have gotten so many fries that I've haven't had to buy frozen fries for years.
Some other restaurants (like a well-known burrito place) give serving sizes that I've been able to get three meals out one of their servings.
Unless the guidelines say otherwise, I take the extra home. I carry lidded containers and a portable ice pack with me everywhere.

When I get a milkshake I am practically licking the inside of the cup, LOL. I don't waste a drop. I will throw away most of the fries but the burger and shake? Uh...no way.

I'm making homemade pizzas (in the oven right now) with asparagus, green onion, roasted garlic, fresh crimini mushrooms, tomatoes, goat cheese, kalamata olives, fresh basil from the garden, pan seared chicken breast, mozzarella, and parm. All the cheese is heart stopping, but I really think it's the veggies that have saved my ass (literally) all these years.
We need some bacon recipes... something carbonara, something unique (got it! coffeequeen makes something lemon/blackberry and figures out where the bacon goes in the recipe), and something seasonal...
