Five Guys

I was walking through Paris today and was shocked to see a 5 Guys right by my hotel in the 1st Arr. I wondered if that one gets shopped...but burgers were around 10-12 EU so it's even more pricey.

I was in Paris in September, near the opera house, and saw a Five Guys. I wondered the same thing.

I'm sure the food was better than what I had.

Yes; it's the one near the Opera. I think it's just there for tourist purposes. I poked my head in and didn't see a lot of locals, but it's August and everyone local is on vacation anyway.

I had an amazing meal just around the corner at Le Petite Vendome for about the same price at 5 Guys, but ate all my other meals at the hotel......which had amazing food. Now I have 14 hours of flying to label all those photos. Ugh!
I did a sightseeing tour of France for my birthday. We started in Paris (yuk) and ended in Monaco. I was not looking forward to that return flight.

@BirdyC yes, Fudd's is shopped. It seems to be seasonal, and it's on one of the companies that use their own "home-grown" platforms, not Sassie or Prophet or Shopmetrics.

Thanks! Is that MSC one that does reimbursement only, never a fee? I need to sign up! I'd do a Fudd's for reimbursement only, since we go there anyway....

What?!?!?!?

You're crazy. I love Paris. Hope to go back next year but not likely as I already have too much scheduled.

bgrif, outside of the tourist attractions, I was very unimpressed with Paris. The hotel was by the Moulin Rouge and when I ventured out, I stayed on the main streets.

I found it to be dirty and had too much graffiti. I loved the French windows, but does everyone need to hang their laundry out of them?

I’m probably in The minority here but if it’s Paris vs London, it’s London for me, hands down!!
Same here

Same here with Paris. I lived in Germany when I was a tot, so we went to Paris and even then I was unimpressed. 25+ years ago, I went to Europe to visit my brother and to go to the Olympics when they were in Barcelona. We went just about everywhere our Eurail pass would take us and Paris was my least favorite. Same thing about 4 years ago. I love London!

I was very disappointed with the food. I went to a crepe restaurant one night for dinner. The crepes were dry and hard. The next day, I ventured out a few blocks from the hotel. My Croque Monsier was a ham and cheese sandwich on stale bread with no sauce.

The restaurants I visited the remainder of the trip made up for Paris. In Beaune, I was determined not to eat, so I got a cru wine from a wine bar. It was so good I had to pair it with something.

I'm pretty sure it's location-dependent. In my area, there's a location where a Little Burger, Little Fries and regular drink totals to nearly $15. Quite insane, but it's located in the central of the business district of Denver.

When I was in Monaco, France I was walking along the Riviera looking for a Mom & Pop place for lunch. After 45 minutes and a beautiful view, I turned around and went back to the whatever across from the hotel, which was next door to the stadium. I smelled food, so I took the stairs 4 flights to follow the trail. It was an apartment. I went back downstairs and ended up in a bar full of rugby players. I asked for wine and a menu. Bar dude said, in pissed English, "What you want menu for? We don't serve food!" I drank my wine and went back to the hotel for dinner. I walked around the wrong way looking for the obscure entrance, and found a Mom & Pop restaurant called Les Oliviers. I had an amazing beef and cheese quiche that was made that morning, and a cru wine.

Pigalle is not the best neighborhood for scenery. I love the Marais. My hotels were in the touristy areas but I took an Uber bike out most days and rode the city. The weather was perfect last week and I definitely have an affinity for Paris. I was in London and Zurich on this trip as well, which were both very nice, but the Paris hotels were classic buildings with amazing architecture and high ceilings.

I'm with @bgriffin in that Paris is always special for me...but I have friends who live there and that's also a big part of the joy of visiting.

On topic; I did use the restroom at Five Guys.
