Has this happened to any of you? This has now happened to be a few times by different schedulers with different companies. I receive a personal text or email from them: "Hey, name, can you do me a favor and do this shop which I need done asap?" I say yes, sure, I can do it on the specific day you need it. Scheduler says, "Great, I'll assign it to you and email you a confirmation right away." Then, nothing. No email, no assignment. If they assigned it to someone else, great! I would like to know that though, since I have mentally cleared space in my calendar that day for the shop that was such a big emergency favor for the scheduler.
What is this practice? Is this just their way of getting things scheduled, by reaching out to a lot of people and saying yes to everyone but not assigning it? I have already stopped working for a few companies who have ghosted me in the past. I do not have time or energy for that nonsense. What do you think?
