Sonic

If it’s not on the menu, it will mess up the timing. They might not have everything prepped in the same way. The kitchen person might have to ask another employee how to prepare it etc.

I figured out why I never get care tokens. Maybe this has happened to you guys, too. I realized that almost always, when there is an extensive wait, the digital ordering screen says, "In the kitchen" then, "Your order is on it's way" within a reasonable time but the order arrives well after I have been notified that it is on it's way. They stop the timer as if it has left the kitchen. If the order is going over time, stopping the timer will still show via the computer records that the food was within the time limit and will not issue the token. I've been bamboozled!

I've noticed this a few times and so now I note the time on the stopwatch when that appears, versus the actual delivery time. I now make a remark in the "Service" section if it takes over a full minute to leave the kitchen and get delivered to me.
Sometimes it takes a long time and the carhop apologizes for the wait and they usually give me a Sonic "coin" for a free Cherry Limeade and sometimes also a coupon booklet. I've never gotten the free shake offer printed at the bottom of the receipt.
I like to order the 6" chili cheese hot dog, but it tastes bland with just chili and cheese. The hot dog tastes MUCH better with the addition of onion and mustard (my opinion.) The guidelines say to only request add-ons listed above the menu options. Mustad and onions are not on the list but has anyone requested those items and had a shop accepted? I usually request mustard packets when condiments are offered, but I have not figured out how to get the onions!
They will NOT let you add onion. The order taker once said "onions or not?" after I ordered and I made the mistake of saying "onions." It showed on the receipt and landed me in QC. I repeated to them the offer that the order taker made, which made it sound to me like onions or no onions was a choice rather than an addition and I got paid but was sternly told never to do it again.
I never had their hot dogs.. I am not crazy about hot dogs in general but I will eat them.

The only thing different from an BCT and and bacon CB is that an BCB is on an hamburger bun and BCT is on texas toast with an onion ring,

IMO I don't see that making an BIG difference but that is me
I occasionally order mustard on my chili dog and have never been questioned about it.

I like their breakfast, but with their iced tea, 1/2 and 1/2. I'm not a coffee snob, but Green Mountain coffee? Yuck. I could get better coffee at my local bank or Home Depot.... And for free.

I get the All-American Hot Dog and get it with only Ketchup/Mustard. I have never had a shop rejected because of it

Their iced coffee is decent but I almost choked when I glanced at the menu while drinking one and saw it was over 400 calories.

What you drank was all sugar...

The quality of coffee is when it’s tasted black. Of all the large fast food chains, McDonald’s is literally the best coffee out there.

I ordered a black iced coffee from Sonic. It had cream in it. When I asked for black coffee, they said they couldn't do it that way.

The secret is to order a coffee, then ask for a cup of ice. But then you’ll figure out how disgusting Green Mountain coffee is lol.

Good idea. Green Mountain has good coffees, but only in their dark roasts. You're absolutely correct about McDonald's coffee.

I don't do the Sonic drive-in stall shops. I do the drive-thru shops for the smaller MSC that has them.

I also always get the chili cheese dog with onion (no mustard, though). Always been accepted for the smaller MSC.

Agree just chili and cheese is bland. Also, the layer of chili is very thin. Anyone else feel that? I feel I never get enough, whereas I'm okay with the amount of cheese.
I've never done a Sonic; there was only one anywhere close to me, but it's closed. The next nearest ones are all more than 20 miles away. I keep trying to find a couple of other shops to do in any of those areas so I can try one, but the timing is never right. I've never eaten at one, so would do a shop just to see if I like the food. Certainly not going to make much $$ on it!

I cannot imagine a chili dog without onions!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

The burgers are rather pedestrian, nothing special, but not bad. The dogs are ok. The tater tots are very good and not to have every had one of their signature cherry limeades is just a shame!!! smiling smiley

I try and go on a Tuesday after 5P when they are Half Price. When I can visit between 2-5P I also like doing that because Dad loves the Slushes and they are Half Price ever day from 2-5P.
Two comments after reading the thread.
1. I buy the chili cheese dog and throw the Weiner away and eat the bun with only the chili and cheese
2. The food is so bad even the homeless won't eat it. I had a woman come up to my window the other day and go on about how hungry she was and ask for money. Since I had only eaten one of the tater tots I tried to give to them to her. She very loudly announced "I don't eat that Crap! Don't you have some money?".

Don't you mean when the cup of ice is half price smiling smiley
Heh, I just did a Sonic today, and not my usual location. I think the food is overpriced. I only take these when they are bonused and the location I usually shop is less than a mile from my house. I wish we could do these shops in the dining room area, and not our car. It would be nice to walk there and burn a few calories. The dining room area at the location where I normally go is quite nice. I hate eating in my car.
the ones we have here are drive up to stall and of couple of them have the additional window.
That's interesting. I visit a location with both a dining room and drive in stalls. The instructions always state that it is a dine-in shop. I won't take that for granted anymore. I have also seen those with outdoor furniture and a menu board for pedestrian traffic. I've often wished I could sit outside (not lately).
Many locations were I travel are no longer open for breakfast. Bummer because there were more choices within reimbursement at breakfast.
There are two in my area that have inside dining. All the others are drive-ins and most now have a drive-thru window. Both the Sonics with inside dining rooms seem to always be dine-in shops. Of the ones with stalls and a drive-thru window, only once have I seen a drive-thru shop, the rest of the time they have been drive in and dine at a stall.
