$8 Hardware store shop; ridiculous!

I did this hardware shop for a different MSC last year. I think it was $20 ($15 base + a $5 bonus). It was hardly worth it at that time-wise, but I was in the area and actually needed one of the products you could use as a scenario, so it was a chance to do some research.

I now see the same chain being shopped by a different MSC, and for $8! Who the heck would do this? It's not like the gas-station audits you all mention that take just a few minutes. The survey is 56 questions, and the time in-store is probably at least 1/2 hour, between waiting to get helped and allowing the salesperson to do his or her spiel. There are several timings involved, if the shop is the same. And, of course, this is one where they let you see the guidelines before you apply, but not the survey. LOL.

Ten-foot pole job at $8, in case anybody sees these and is tempted to do one.

The HEB NetSpend jobs are getting just as bad. The pay is $9 and each month more and more requirements are added. Each store takes a long time. I'm getting pretty fed up. Why do companies believe my time is not worth anything?
Not to be rude but to answer your question Dandydew because you take them, as well as other, and continue to take them at $9 with additional work added. Those jobs may never increase in pay but it does not mean you have to take them find other jobs that pay more, ask for bonuses, and value yourself.

I just negotiated a nice route of 8 shops, same job (not the NetSpend), same 8 locations every month for a good value above what they start at. These shops will now never hit the job board.

If you treat this as a business you will make Business pay, if you treat it as a hobby then you will make hobby pay.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
I think it's important to make the distinction between valuing your time ( which is subjective ) and valuing yourself. Would I take an 8.00 shop ? Sure, when pigs fly, BUT that 8.00 may mean a lot more to a parent whose child needs shoes or other necessities. If the pay is ridiculously low for the work, don't take the job.
This is true with an airport parking shop where you must 'wait at least' 40 minutes. Shop pay ~ $5.00! $5.00 isn't even minimum wage. There is 'bonus' money built into every shop. I don't know if the scheduler gets a bonus for getting it done at the cheapest price, seems silly to me.

At the first of the month, I inform the scheduler I will do this tomorrow for $12.00, just approve now. Foolishly, the scheduler waits until the end-of-the-month and pays $12.00!
I've shopped this airport several times, but when the scheduler waits until the end-of-the-month, I'll let it pass.

If I say that I can do it tomorrow and then they wait for a week and then say you said you could do it for $x two weeks ago why can't you now. I tell them that You were the only one at the time but it is later in the month and you have lost out to other shops that are paying more.
Because people are incorrectly told that they need to do these low-paying shops in order to get the higher paying shops. Which first of all, is not true, and secondly, is a basically asking someone to pay to do mystery shopping.
