Ruth's Chris shop reports
I have not done it, but man, I love Ruth's Chris... yum.
I've done other fine dining shops for this MSC. The report is not too bad. They include a sample narrative in the shop guidelines
I've done the Ruth's Chris shop. The report is long and detailed, like the other shops the MSC requires.
I believe I can get 10-15% off Ruth's Chris's gift cards. If those are allowed, that'd be a decent $17-25.50 back-end "bonus."
Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.
The report is not bad compared to another notorious MSC with fine dining shops.
Beware reimbursement NOT covering necessary purchases.
I have canceled assignments because the reimbursement did not cover the required purchase.

I haven't done this particular shop, but I would even if it covered most of the meal just because the food is so darned good. It doesn't see right when you are assigned a high-end restaurant and the reimbursement only covers the lowest price menu items. If the food isn't great, it's a total waste of time. But, for really excellent restaurants, I will go a little out of pocket. I will take hubby out for a special treat on a shop like that. We have done Fleming's steakhouse a couple of times and I went about $50 over and didn't really mind.
This must be a really popular shop in my area as I have been applying for it for several years now and still have not been the chosen one to complete it. Oh well, I'll keep trying as that is all one can do in this biz.

I did it once and personally I did not like the food. Won’t go back. I also don’t want to use a shop as a coupon discount. Pay the entire dinner or I can find a coupon no report and yes they do have deals. I actually saw their coupon here today.
I found the nearest location one day while doing something else. It is about four hours from home, and the exterior makes me want to stay away. (The building is sleek and leaves me cold. My eyes saw that and expected the interior to match. Matching "food" would be an energy globule.) The fact that I might not have time to report after dinner and make it home by 1 am for the early job the next day makes it easy to be pleased that someone else will complete that shop.

It is required that one diner order a steak, so that eliminates myself and pretty much everyone I know.

I didn't find the report much more difficult than any other restaurants. I would want some other restaurant shops under my belt first before trying this one since its a lot out of pocket if there's an issue with the report.
Makesure you dress the part. This is NOT a jeans place and will escort out... we saw that with others.

I just completed my first one about 2 weeks ago and it wasn't that bad at all. My bar shops are usually far more detailed (and less pay). I received a perfect score, so they seem to grade fairly enough. It took me less than 30 minutes to write it all up and submit it.

Really? Were they torn, or too short? I have done RC for the restaurant and I am better dressed without anything excessive but I also shop it regularly for the valet, along with the Capital Grill and Del Frisco valets and use the bonus to get a drink or an appetizer at the bar to pass the time. People come in jeans, Bermuda shorts in the summer, anything. People go with jeans even at the Manhattan locations of the above steakhouses. Even at Cafe Bouloud where you are supposed to pay $300 cash many people come in jeans.
The couple we saw had very nice tops on and clean new looking jeans. Turned away.
Were they faded jeans? Could it be something local?

In other locations is similar like the Baltimore and NC locations: "Thank you for not wearing: Athletic wear, tank tops (gentlemen), clothing with offensive graphics or language, flip flops, cut-off shorts or torn clothing."
In NYC it states "proper business casual for the dining area" which they translate as "Thank you for not wearing:
Gym wear, sweat pants, track suits, cut off shorts, tank tops, clothing with offensive graphics or language, midriff-baring outfits or exposed undergarments." For the lounge/bar they accept "casual dress" which is translated as "Expected attire should be free of offensive graphics or language. No exposed undergarments please."
I've been doing RC even when they were shopped by the MS that does the peanut loving burger! Yes, I know people are shocked, but the MS actually experimented with fine dining for some time and high fashion luxury designers but they decided not to pursue as they could not find anyone to shop with their insulting lowball they started the shops.But the reports were so easy, and the editors a breeze.

It's sad to me that a company has to spell out not to wear clothing with offensive graphics or language. Carnival cruise lines just formally made this a policy as well.

I've done a couple of these, my area has three Ruth Chris locations within 15 minutes of my house. The report isn't bad and they give you 24 hours so you can do it the next morning. I can usually stay under the reimbursement or less than $5 over, even with two steaks. One glass of wine is covered by the bar reimbursement. We get a salad to share to start and one side, with the two steaks and a dessert it's still too much food. The last couple times I've done this shop, they have a 3 course prix fixe that gets us right under the reimbursement even with a dessert up charge and coffee. The food is good, but not good enough that I would ever pay for it myself. We like Fleming's and Capital Grille better. I haven't seen a Fleming's shop in years, although we disliked their need for a special occasion.
When I did Fleming's not too long ago they did absolutely nothing for the special occasion. Totally a miss on their part.

We have some nice photos they took and gave us for our various special occasions (birthdays and anniversaries). I like our Fleming's quite a bit. I haven't ever done Capital Grille, but the closest one is over an hour away....Fleming's is 20-25 minutes away.
I like Carrabba's too, and it's significantly less expensive with decent food for a chain (yeah I know we were talking steaks). I have one of those set up for March and I am pretty thrilled. Actually, they do have steaks there, but I always get their chicken trio, which is just delicious. Now I did eat at a Carrabba's out in Phoenix and was hugely disappointed with their food and service. Ours is great. Just goes to show how much things can vary from location to location with chain restaurants.

I shopped my first Carrabba's early this month and the service was probably the best I have ever had. The food was great and there was a lot of it. I have a second one in February, but I read the reviews on Yelp and they seem horrible. However, there were some not-so-great reviews on the first one I went to, so it just goes to show that each individual one is so different.
We don't have a Fleming's or Capital Grille, but now my curiosity is piqued and I feel the need to go out and find one!
I love that you spelled piqued correctly. Drives me batty when people don't, and there have been some forum members who have used "peaked" instead.
If you can find a Fleming's shop, do it, but I personally wouldn't go there on my own dime. It's really good but it's easy to drop $200 there for two people.

It's also one of my favorite words, besides ennui. I am going to research Fleming's locations. I think there is a Capital Grille in Raleigh, which is about 2.5 hours from me.
I just checked, and there is a Fleming's location in Raleigh, which is less than 3 hours away from me. Now I want to see what all the hype is about. It gives me a good excuse to look for a hotel shop while I am at it.
