Here in Ohio the state owns the liquor stores. I think ours will stay open. And several of the grocery stores have liquor departments in them.
If the borders shut down for trade, we better stock up on Crown Royal!!!!

I find it ironic that the same agency that gives out DUIs also owns the liquor stores, LOL!!! Here and Tennessee, I believe. That freaked me out when I moved here from Florida, since down there you can comparison shop for your alcohol and it varies in price. Here, all prices are the same no matter which liquor store you choose to visit.

So far, so good for an ol' girly girl. My nail salon is open (I need it soon) and clothing stores are open. At a consignment store, I picked up the next smaller size of jeans from a particular brand. (tmi alert: It is difficult to lose weight! It is easier when I know that i can afford to cover my shrinking carcass. I try to stick with one or two brands and get the progressively smaller sizes at thrift or consignment prices.)
Even without shops, I can afford my goals...

They sent an email that it's best to set up delivery with them, however. No browsing in the store.

Over here, I have been working from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily making content, having virtual meetings, grading, etc. I'm burnt out and this has just started. I'm now a YouTuber apparently.

I have a pretty good idea. My neighbor recently finished bartending school and I'm working from home all day, so I just got a Rob Roy delivered too....
I'm also counting myself EXTREMELY lucky that I am able to work from home!

WaWa, a convenience store and gas station on the East Coast, turned their self service areas into full service. They will also close for an hour for deep cleaning.

Also off topic - money. Do you suppose the handling of cash has enabled this virus to spread so quickly and so far? I am not well informed but if the germs can live for days it makes sense that a single infected dollar or nickle could pass through the hands of many people and move on to others states and countries.
I so rarely use cash. But good point. Banks could have some issues.
I'm thinking about all those $1 reimbursed convenience store purchases I've made in the last few months.
Excellent point, sestrahelena. Cash (both paper bills and coins) is very dirty. You're probably on point.
My co-worker recommended signing up for things like Google Pay to be hands-free when paying. I also thought about signing up for Zelle in case someone has to go to the store for me and then I can reimburse them through Zelle.

Google pay is very easy to use. Its been my choice for months now. No experience with zelle but its a good idea. Also I dont know how it works but you can also send money through facebook.

All good suggestions but the convenience store purchase shops specified cash. Maybe this will change in the future but I can't help feeling like I contributed to the spread unwittingly. I made a lot of purchases in a lot of places and I don't know where that money had been, who touched it before or where it is going next.
I get paid by Zelle pretty regularly, no problems. Shopperbob didn't have a bank account that was set up to accept Zelle, if I recall. My banks do.

I walked my parents through setting up a Venmo account this morning. Neighbors in the Bay Area have been bringing them grocery supplies all week so that they don't have to leave the house, and my mom was trying to find a safe way to pay everyone back...

I got groceries yesterday and wiped down everything with Lysol wipes before putting it away. I always have wiped off my cans and shelf stable goods before putting them away, but I didn't use disinfectant before. Now everything is getting sanitized before going in the frig or pantry.
My sister works for the Department of State and is on a compound in Pakistan. They just got their first coronavirus case on the compound. I am worried for her. She said that some of the diplomats have already left. She doesn't want to come back to the states right now but I wish she would. I am sure that all of them will be quarantined somewhere for a few weeks before they are allowed to be in the general population again.

Maybe the US can adopt Japanese culture. In other words, when they have any cash or card transactions, they ask you to place it on a tray, while they wear gloves. And of course, they bow with a friendly 'arigato gozaimasu.' Much more friendly and sanitary too
