What are the Most Shops You've Done in a Day?

I've done 3 at most so far, which I'm sure is nothing to most of you guys. Two were in the same facility and the other was nearby.

Many of you probably do this all the time, but I'm thinking of driving to the farthest place I'm willing to commute to one day (maybe starting about 28 miles away), then going from place to place to about 4-6 places all getting closer back to my home. I personally wouldn't do this more than twice a month though...the traffic & hassle isn't worth doing it more than that.

Otherwise, I should just try to do as many as I can in my local vicinity.

I completed 18 at an airport, which was rather easy. Routing, though, it was 17 covering 438 miles on 12/31/12. My gross was $917, but that sum also included the reports on 01/01/13.

^ Wow! & how many hours did that take you...morning to night? It's still worth it for 1 day when they're all in one place & you were up to doing it.

12 which included some gas station evaluations that i input on the app at the station and only had to submit it and an invoice when i got home. There were other shops that were quick and easy.

regularly do from 5 to 12 a day. 3 shops in one day would be a slow day for me. I may even consider that an off day. I have also done days with only 1 or 2 shops. To answer your question I would say around 20.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

I work full-time and have a career. Everything I do is pure side hustle. My brain churns after four (like Monday.) It IS A LOT MENTALLY!!!

In the 40's. Mostly QSR drive thru. Might have been more? It was over 15 years ago.

I can knock out 20 easily and frequently, depending on the type of shop. I no longer shop full time though, so it has to be on days off my my regular full time job.

I've done 24 with full narrative in one day plus a handful with no narrative on the same day. Obviously, I demand - and get - extended reporting time for the ones with narratives.

A few years ago I did 36 Chevron mystery shops in 12 hours. I also have done 24 Mobils, 32 Del Tacos, 35 USPS, and 23 76 stations in a day. These days I prefer to stick to around 4-5 a day.

I did 49 gas stations on one day years ago. Left before dawn and arrived back home after dark, but did all 49 shops when the sun was out. Took me an additional 2 days to get the reports in. I often do 25-30 gas shops a day (inside purchase only - no gas). I usually try to do at least 10 shops a day 5 days a week to pay the bills and take a vacation every couple of months with whatever is left over. And I'm not adverse to spending a couple hours a day doing shops while I'm on vacation, too!

Funny. The limit for USPS is five per day.

The ones I did only observed customer service and small purchase. No mailing anything. I think I bought a bunch of tape. Haven't seen this shop since unfortunately.

Think I did six or seven assignments (?) on one occasion. Locally, I can repeat this only twice per year due to rotations, being too old for booze and ciggie shops, and living in a tiny town. When I do little road trips everything is so far away that by the time I can leave home after early a.m. work, there is little time to complete shops and report them before I need to get some sleep and start all over at midnight or 1 a.m. the next day.

Honestly I find this all to be a little much. I consider 8 shops a full day. Of course I have to route and drive 100 miles to complete that much.

I used to do a monthly gas station route of 25-30 stations in one day. I did the first one just after daylight and the last one just before dusk. I had to put the first few reports in when I got home, so that they would be within the 24 hour reporting time, but then I had the next day to finish the rest and get them in on time. It was two days work, but it paid well for the time and gas that I used.

The most I have done was around 80 in a day before (quick age compliance shops, 4am-midnight basically), but didn’t do the paperwork until the next day. I would highly suggest not doing that though, wasn’t a fun weekend.

There's such a wide range of shop durations, though. 40 or so quick, in & out shops can be done in a day but there are the more complex shops that take more time on site and reporting. Such as a casino or hotel that requires multiple interactions and lots of time to write up. It still only counts as one shop!

"How many" shops is always such a weird question as different shops require very different time commitments. I've done as many as six new home video shops in a single day - which is borderline insane as I typically need to reserve about two hours for each visit, including travel). It required very favorable geography (three visits for three different builders in the same neighborhood), lucky breaks with traffic, and two really lazy salespeople who did little more than hand me brochure and point me towards a model so I could tour myself. I had only scheduled (a very busy) five visits that day, but one had an "either Thursday or Friday" visit window and I found myself with lots of extra time on Thursday due to the above....

About 20, I think. And that was not a full workday, as I don't like shopping for more than 4-5 hours.

For maximum usage of your time and miles, I would suggest a starting point closer to home and working your way in a circle if possible. I generally don't travel more than 15-20 miles in a day and my routes are usually in a circle with shops a couple of miles from each other (or less). I know that can't work for everyone, but it does for me.

If you're talking about separate shops in general in large volumes, the most I've done was an insane 35 in a single day: 33 were for gas stations where I was able to finish the narrative and overall interaction in 10 minutes at the station. 1 was for Chipotle and the last one was for Texas Roadhouse. That was an insanely long day from 7 AM leaving my parent's house through 10 PM which was when I arrived back home after returning the rental car. That was a decent pay day netting around $600 after expenses, rental car, etc.? Can't remember the exact numbers. Can say that was worth working 15 hours for though of grueling work instead of just spreading it out over two days instead...

Your question could be answered more accurately by requesting totals using the categories apps or other, large cities, rural routes, long term routes and video or even more detail. For me 6 is comfortable, 8 is doable, 10 means extra rest the next day. Mine are rural routes, always bonused, and average 20 minutes to an hour apart. I'm on the road an average of 6-8 hours, then reports.

I did about 17 airport shops and did not gross nearly this much. Do you mind sharing if this was all by one MSC?

Are you referring to shopperbob? He did not say what he made at the airport.

Airport shops, that I do, never pay less than $25 a location for retail. I don't care what the board says. Route airport shops pay around $12 each on average if you are doing more than 10.

So, 18 airport shops should be between $215-$350 fees depending on the project.

Male shoppers in Miami are always getting huge bonuses.

I think the most I've done is about 10 in one day. Although, I did a Coyle cruise shop once and felt like I was doing shops 24 hours a day for 7 straight days lol. I don't drive and there's not a ton in my immediate area, so I'm more limited on how much I can do in a day, but it gives me a lot of time on the bus/train to do my reports.

15-17 shops. 12 of them were gas stations - all the same brand. I find that doing multiples of the same shops is easier, plus doing shops that I've done before so they are familiar. I work full-time, so I don't do this many in a typical day.

Yes it was for @shopperbob but thank you for your insight! I interpreted his post as saying he made $917 on 18 shops, meaning he averaged $50 per location, way higher than the base fee.
The only airport shop I’ve done is with the MSC that does routes for many airports, and they’ve never given me a bonus per location, only the overall route.
